Kudos to Keith Olbermann & 'Countdown'
Awesome opening to Olbermann's 'Countdown' tonight...

- Comments on ABC News 1% Kerry debate win -- and INCLUDES the fact that the poll respondents were skewed by 8% towards Republicans.

- Comments on absence of "you can run but you can't hide" soundbite from Bush's debate drivel -- noting the MSNBC's Craig Crawford had pointed out in Wednesday's show that it was the same phrase Bush had directed to the still-hiding, still-free Osama bin Laden.

- Comments on the THREE faces of George W Bush seen through the 3 debates, including last night's "smiling, controlled, happy-happy, joy-joy" Bush. (As opposed to Petulant W, and Furious George from the earlier debates.)

- Refers to McCain on AF1 as "seemingly unwilling" and being drug along by W.

- Manages to nail Bush on the "not concerned with Osama" contradiction from last night's debate.

- On the flu vaccine issue, 'Countdown' highlighted that the company that boned the flu vaccine is based in California (though the lab is in Britain), and that it was the Brits who caught the contamination. (Though they missed the Prez on his contradictory position on importing drugs from Canada; it's OK to import flu vaccine from Canada but NOT other prescription drugs.)

And not a comment, yet, on the "Mary Cheney" nonsense. (Though I'm only 10 minutes in.)

OK.. a complaint... Dana Milbank saying Dems don't really like Kerry; we only support him because we "hate" Bush so much.

1. RE: Dana Milbank
I wrote down what he said since I plan to e-mail a response. It was to the effect of Republicans love Bush like he's a rock star, "Democrats just think Kerry is OK as a vessel to defeat Bush who they hate." That may have been true six months ago when the media didn't go out of it's way to say anything positive about Kerry, but the debates have given everyone a chance to see that Kerry will make a good president.

2. send him the poll numbers saying Kerry is more likable than Bush
Kerry has better likability ratings now. Look at any poll and smear it in anyone's face that says that kind of crap.
