Did you notice? There weren't any of those long, long pauses in his replies. They are standard and legendary in his appearances before questioners. There weren't any last night.

2. I agree, seemed obvious to me...
For the first 15 minutes, I got the impression that it was totally rigged and Kerry was in trouble. It's as if Kerry said to himself, "OK, he's cheating, but I can beat him anyway." Kerry went on to own the second half of the debate.

Just gave a short sentence and then moved on to a totally different subject that he HAD prepared for.
