4. That's why if I had to register to vote...
...I'd do it at my town office or city hall.

6. Brief clip of a young black kid in Oregon
Admitting he only registers Republicans because he gets paid for Republicans and zero for Democrats. Said he is a Democrat and feels bad about it, "but I'm in this for the money."

Then a lengthy interview with an impressive elections supervisor in Miami, saying this was an old type of practice and both parties have engaged in some form. She said the easiest way to manipulate an election was control who could vote once they showed up at the polling place, and this practice manages that. She gave an example that in Florida 200 registrations were intentionally stamped as October 5, not the true date of October 4, so they would be rejected since October 4 was the final day to register.

When Olberman asked how a group like Voters Outreach could traipse the country with the same shenanigans, she said there was absolutely no oversight or coordination or communication nationwide.

Indeed, it looks like we were lucky to find out about this at all.

8. Recorded...will try to post
Been having problems encoding lately though...one of two things happen when I encode:
a)the sound cuts out at some point and never returns
or
b) at some point the video stays still and never moves again (though the audio keeps playing)

Cant figure it out...I think it may be hardware related...something may have gotten messed up during the storm...we lost power and it was real humid and hot inside for 4 days while we waited for the power to return...think it messed something up...kinda sux.

If I can encode it right, Ill have it posted on my site later tonight (sometime after the debate)

9. This is why you need same-day registration.
Walk in to your polling place with government-provided ID OR a recent utility bill with your address on it OR a registered voter to vouch for you.

Works in Minnesota where we consistently turn out in relatively high numbers (and do I need to point out we consistently vote for Democrat presidential candidates?).

No deadline to register = fewer opportunities to screw with voters.

10. Problem with same day registration...
how do you prevent someone from registering and voting in one county then running over to another to register and vote again? Hopefully they have synced up computers that register by Drivers License or something in realtime to all polling stations.

11. Warning--smug Minnesotan's reply
We prevent registration fraud primarily by having a clean political climate. Dirty tricks have historically not been a problem here. Politicians aren't allowed to receive gifts, of any kind or amount, from supporters, lobbyists or people who do business with the state.

But the sad truth is our political climate is deteriorating. Inquire further when another couple of election cycles have come and gone, we may find voter fraud to actually be a problem. Hope not.
