1. I hope so...
his overconfidence is his greatest weakness... and that's saying a lot!

6. confident like he was last wednesday and thrusday?
When he didn't prepare for the town hall and he snapped?

Prepared like:
-The wood business
-The hydrogen car business
-The Dred Scott business
-The sounding like a petulant child who's lost his toy business?

7. Bush apparently got irritated at staff urging him to practice more before
the 2nd debate...Seems he's always irritated about something, isn't he?

Maybe he feels he's learned how to stand behind a podium and that's all he has to do!

11. Bratboy, the Mad Puppet....
Debate prep is more than just pacing back and forth reciting positions. It usually involves some degree of reading.

That's why he does not practice.

12. My take: Bush is more behind in the internal polls than we hear
Bush is ALL about prepping for these things but his campaign is starting to PANIC.

This is no time to lighten up...we must DOUBLE our efforts for a knockout punch and get these FACIST thugs out of our government.

I would think that I was the world's greatest lover.

These are the paid political crowds. It's a wonder the "dress like ordinary people" memo hasn't resurfaced . . .

15. * hasn't the sense to get in out of the rain, before the 2nd debate
he fished in the rain! Facts are not necessary - he has a transmitter and his ear piece - the question is, how long have Rove & Hughes been prepping for this debate!

19. bush's confidence
indicates to me that his "internals" have him ranked rather highly and that he completely expects to win.

the problem with this logic is that noone dares mention negatives to him. i recall reading that he verbally destroyed his staff after the first debate, so who is going to have the nerve to stand up and tell him everything is not nearly as peachy as he believes it is.

this is arrogance and ego, and in my experience, the larger you blow the bubble, the bigger the mess when it blows up in your face.

21. Kerry's been preparing for this his whole life
Disagree with him, but don't doubt his ambitions.

He will be prepared. Bush will be fighting a defensive war, which means that Kerry has to defeat him utterly, and I believe Kerry knows that.

23. Because Chimpy relies on his instincts (plus God will help him)
You see? For certain people it's all innate. It's possible that Chimpy takes this crap really seriously and BELIEVES that God will inspire him at the right moment, if needed.

24. "Kerry has been prepping for his whole life, while *....
took the job after failing at everyting else (except baseball).

PBS's Frontline made that clear last night - Kery is a product of a life of experience and intelligent thinking, the shrub is a result of powerful family and friends and dumb luck (whcih ends in two weeks).

been more industrious than bush's so taking the time to prepare was a natural result and keeps him on track to get a hat trick(3/3)

29. God's on his side
He doesn't delieve he needs any help. It's "God's will" that he win the election, just like it was God's will that Tenet be fired, and everything else. This is the biggest threat with this administration. They don't think their actions have any consequences for themselves of for the country. They think it's all preordained.
