I was referencing the photo of the Pentagon on the first page with all the people standing around. I thought it looked like there was a fairly large piece of plane close to the point of impact. As a matter of interest, assuming it's not a part of the plane, what is it?

I can understand why the shape reminds you of a plane fuselage, but look more closely. That's definately spray from a firehose, not any solid fuselage!

Walking in his gumboots, the only recognisable body part he saw was a piece of spinal cord, with five vertebrae attached.

"I've seen a lot of highway fatalities where there's fragmentation," Miller said. "The interesting thing about this particular case is that I haven't, to this day, 11 months later, seen any single drop of blood. Not a drop. The only thing I can deduce is that the crash was over in half a second. There was a fireball 15-20 metres high, so all of that material just got vaporised."

Miller goes on to say that the search effort recovered 270k of human remains. So although finding no blood is remarkable to him, he doesn't find it so unusual that he can't recognize actual human remains.

No blood and no credible evidence of a plane crash (not even one piece of luggage, much less two large engines). Makes it all that much more likely that what Mr. Gumboots found was body parts that were planted at the non-crash site (blasted-out hole in the ground). Furthermore, Mr. "Gumboots" Miller doesn't say where he found all those bloodless body parts. They could have come from anywhere. Look UP in the sky!

Especially things made of metal. That requires a fire that burns for more then a few seconds. Fireballs are quite spectacular but not as damaging as you would think. It the fire after the explosion that causes most of the damage and that depends on how long it takes to put out. Most accounts of Flight 93 claim plowed into the ground and exploded on impact, but the fire only lasted 5 or 10 minutes. Certainly not long enough to cause the plane to vaporize and the parts that burned when they plowed under the ground would have been smothered by the dirt.


This may or may not relate but here's an example of a fire ball that I had direct experience with and the fire from this one burnt for a couple of hours.

A 10,000-gallon fuel tank exploded at a dock here today shooting a fireball hundreds of feet in the air, injuring four people and destroying a warehouse, mobile homes and boats, the authorities said.

I happened to be living at the marina next door the day this happened. My ex SO and I were driving back when we could see smoke coming up from the marina, so of course the first thought was that we hoped it wasn't our boat. When we got there we found out that a fire had started down on the oil dock on the other side of canal. Apparently a fuel truck was transfering fuel to one of the big storage tanks and a spark set off a fire. Fortunately, the guys at the oil dock all managed to jump into the water and were picked up by boaters before the fire caused the tank to explode. My ex SO was a bit of a maniac and decided to run down to see the fire better. I hung back near the exit from the marina. Then the damn thing blew. The thing just kept getting bigger and bigger and I finally realized maybe I should start running. Has I ran I could feel the heat on my back. A lot of people decided it was a good time to go swimming, expecially the folks closer to the end of the dock across from the explosion. The amazing thing was that there wasn't as much damage as you would expect. The oil dock was toast but the fire did burn for another couple of hours before they finished putting it out. The end of the dock of the marina was fine and the mangroves on the other side were singed but didn't catch fire. Even the other oil tanks that were next to the explosion survived. Yet, if you had been near the fireball when it went off, you wouldn't think anything could have survived.

At least he admits that there was a second 'debris' site. However, his explaination for it doesn't make sense. He claims only light material blew to this other spot, things that 'in the air with wind would easily blown'. What wind? There was even a breeze at the crash site. Plus if the plane didn't explode until it hit the ground and then plowed into the earth, how did enough debris get airborne to create another debris site?

Investigators searching the wreckage of United Flight 93 in western Pennsylvania on Thursday found the plane's flight data recorder, said FBI spokesman Bill Crowley. The recorder was being sent to the National Transportation Safety Board in Washington for analysis.

"We are hoping that it will have some information that is pertinent to what occurred in the plane prior to its crashing," Crowley said.

The NTSB said United Airlines Flight 93 was heading eastward when it crashed in Somerset County.

FBI officials leading the investigation said it could take weeks to recover everything from the crash site. Crowley said archaeologists have been brought in to search the impact crater, which has been covered by a layer of dust.

Authorities also said another debris site had been cordoned off six to eight miles away from the original crash debris site. But Crowley said the debris was "very light material such as paper and thin nylon -- things that in the air with the wind would easily blow."

If 911 was a covert U.S. operation, it's hard to imagine that no one would have warned the Olsons about flying (commercial) on 911. That's why what happened to Mrs. Olson may well be one of the only true examples of a 911 coincidence, albeit a tragic, sad one.

I see three possibilities;

1. She's not dead.
2. Ted Olson was in on it but didn't tell his wife.
3. Ted Olson wasn't in on it and couldn't tell his wife.

I don't give much credence to the third one I'm afraid. And the first one is only a remote possibility. Therefore I tend to go with #2. So the question would be why didn't he tell his wife?

and I can't find any confirmation that Olsen has indeed remarried. Lot's of talk on the internet blogs, but nothing like an official announcement or news report that I can find.

I still remember seeing a picture of him with his 'family' at someone's funeral, maybe Reagan's? He was standing to the left side at an outdoor service, with his new wife and one of his granddaughters.
