In July 2001, at the G8 Summit in Genoa, Italy, US President George W. Bush was himself the suspected target of a terrorist plot to crash a hijacked commercial plane into a building. "Italian officials took the reports seriously enough to prompt extraordinary precautions during the July summit of the Group of 8 nations, including closing the airspace over Genoa and stationing anti-aircraft guns at the city's airport." Given that Bush himself was a suspected target of a "hijacked plane bomb" terrorist attack in July 2001, how can the Bush administration possibly explain the fact that Bush kept reading The Pet Goat in a widely publicized, previously scheduled public appearance in Sarasota, FL (only 5 miles from the Sarasota International Airport and 40 miles from the Tampa International Airport) for at least 9 minutes and then remained at the school for a press conference more than 30 minutes AFTER it had become obvious to him and everyone else over 10 years old with access to breaking news that the US was dealing with a coordinated attack of suicidal terrorist hijackers? From 9/12/01 AP reports (for example, http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,1283,46692,00.html ): "In Florida, Bush was reading to children in a classroom at 9:05 a.m. when his chief of staff, Andrew Card, whispered into his ear. The president briefly turned somber before he resumed reading. He addressed the tragedy about a half-hour later."

Didn't it cross anybody's mind in the entire Bush entourage that the grammar school might be the terrorists' next target and that they just might want to get Bush and ALL OF THE LITTLE KIDS he was reading with out of harm's way? If not, why not? Remember that just two months before, Bush himself had been one of the suspected targets of just such a terrorist plot. Is there no one in the entire Bush administration intelligence/Secret Service entourage with a three digit IQ?

The simplest explanation for this bizarre reaction to the very real potential of toddler mass murder is administration foreknowledge at the highest levels. Bravado doesn't make sense as an explanation because Bush would have been taking a bunch of little kids with him in any potential attack. Stunned inaction doesn't make much sense either because the primary mission of the entire Secret Service is to ensure the President's safety. There are only two obvious choices here: on 9/11 the Bush administration was either criminally incompetent or just plain criminal.

Our president first of all had promised these children that he would observe their lesson in order to encourage them to continue their schooling and to advance the noble goals of the No Child Left Behind Act. If our president had stopped reading "The Pet Goat," his actions might have startled or scared them, and scaring them is practically like terrorizing them, which would have been a form of terrorism, and we know that our president, this president, is determined to fight all terrorism.

Every promise a person makes is really a promise between three parties, the person promising, the person to whom the promise was made and God. So our president could not break his promise with those children and with God to finish reading "The Pet Goat."

Our president could not make any sudden moves, and also did not want the world to think that our president was panicking or afraid in the face of the acts of the evil doers.

I know from many hours of prayer and close communication with Jesus that our president did exactly the right thing by staying in the classroom and finishing the reading of "The Pet Goat."

While my post explains exactly why our president stayed in that classroom, your OP is really just a lot of conjecture, and we also know that your conspiracy theory would require a vast number of people to keep the secret of why our president stayed in the classroom reading "The Pet Goat," and that no one can keep a secret and therefore if no one has come forward, then there was no conspiracy.

It's downright impossible to believe that a President can be informed the nation is under attack and
just sit there. Obviously you get up and find out what's going on. Rehearsing in your mind how you'll
react to certain contingencies is part of adult life. What do you do if your child starts to choke?
What do you do if your dad has a heart attack? What if there's an auto accident outside your house?

Suppose you're watching the football game on TV and your wife says, "Honey, the car is on fire."
Do you say, "Okay, I'll be there at half time"?

He doesn't have to make a decision until he knows what's going on. And what is so difficult about
making a decision to defend the nation? He doesn't have any trouble sending GIs and Nat'l Guardspeople
to get maimed and killed. He doesn't have any trouble killing Iraqi civilians.

That's why I think he has to be stalling. 77 is behind schedule, and if he leaves the room he'll be
expected to ask "Is there an air defense for Washington? Well why not?" 93 was even more behind
schedule, and possibly aimed at Congress.

Bush's appearance at the school was printed in the local paper days in advance. He wasn't safe - there's no excuse for the Secret Service doing nothing when the attack was underway - unless they were under direct orders to do nothing.

The school was five miles from the airport and it's VERY easy to pick out.

The School is in Newton Estates Park, right near the RR tracks. If you look at the Google map you'll
see the Sarasota runways point right at it. You can't miss it. Besides, somebody could have placed a
radio beacon.

You guys make up your facts to protect your complacency, and then try to inflict that complacency
on the rest of us.


Furthermore there was a suspected assassination attempt that morning, with men showing up claiming to
be television reporters. And threats were reported to the police, who notified the SS.


Look at that map. It's downright creepy the way he sat in the crosshairs. It's suggested that one of
Osama's brothers was a hostage at the Carlyle Group board meeting with Poppy Bush that day. It looks
like W might have been a hostage too.

They supposedly had no idea how massive and coordinated the attack was, only that it was really major. The attackers could have had 10 planes and expert navigation skills for all anyone knew. The Secret Service doesn't make assumptions - if they hear a loud pop, they don't assume it was a firecracker, they dogpile on the pres.
