Bush Admin, successful with the War on Terror?
What have they done right, or done wrong...
Any thoughts appreciated.

(Leaving 9/11 aside for the moment.)

1. Bush Admin, creators of the "War on Terror"
What is the "war on terror" besides a myth that is being perpetuated in the media and posts like this?

5. Agreed, but what part of this ostensible 'war on terror'
makes sense or not, if any?

2. Quite frankly,
I personally don't even think of the War on Terrorism as having even started yet. The mess in Iraq is eating up so much time, energy and resources and we all know that pre-invasion there was not a single suicide bomber that was ever traced back to Iraq. What the fuck are we doing there?!?! As long as we are bogged down there I don't consider the War on Terrorism as having started.

3. Well, first of all, I believe I heard someone say there were more
terrorist cells in Britain than there were in Iraq before the administration decided it needed to invade Iraq in order to fight terror. Even though I am no expert and have never been paid as a government consultant,I was able to figure out we would increase terrorism by invading Iraq. It's just so obvious. We can't bully the Middle East into dropping their agendas any more than they can do that to the US. So, that's one thing they've done wrong. But really, I think it starts way before. I think all their policies and arrogance are fuel on the fire of terror.
Then, by abusing our military, they contribute to the destabilization of our entire society. Now that can't be good for terror.
Bush continues to get rid of those who have a modicum of insight into this and replace them with those who will parrot his line and stand by his lunacy. There's another thing they've done wrong.
They sent a military into a country, in the guise of helping them, where nobody knows a damn thing about the culture and lifeways of those people. How can they succeed under those circumstances. Now Iraq will be a breeding ground for terror. Unfortunately, Bush and Co. had no idea how crazy Iraq would get after Saddam was deposed. That's reckless and tragic. I could go on.

7. Prettty Good Analysis
I remember debating vigorously in the eve of the war on Salon.com against the hawks and they just didn't get it that the consequences of this action would be civil war in Iraq and a new breeding ground for terrorism. BuschCo is driven by peak oil. At least they understand that the world is in a pickle because of it. But their solution is abominable and will not work.
