(video)John Adams: "There are two ways to enslave a nation. One is by the sword.....
.....The other is by debt."

Newly released video "Zeitgeist Addendum" (2hrs) explains the mechanics of how the Fed creates money through debt and looks at some of the implications a debt based currency holds for society, e.g. inflation and perpetually increasing overall debt.

1. I just watched the addendum early this morning. Debt, the gift that keeps
on giving. It's indeed time for a different basis for our economy.

The is a solution to our problem -- end the debt based monetary system and move, globally, toward a renewable resource based system. We have the technology to create an infrastructure that is not dependent upon hydrocarbons (oil) for ENERGY. (There are some things for which oil and natural gas are essential; lets save those reserves for those purposes). What stands in our way is an old, out dated, no longer relevant, international banking and debt based monetary system coupled with a corporatocracy which includes the military industrial complex and the government it purchases (in effect 'steals') leaving We the People little more than debt slaves. To do this will require a fundamental shift in our "Zeitgeist," or world view, of not only what is humanly possible but what our actual goals as human beings can be. After decades of being sold a consumerist reality by Wall Street, Madison Avenue and Hollywood, based on monetized debt that invariably creates an increasing disparity between "rich" and "poor," it is time to set four ourselves a far-reaching global agenda that will establish global resources as a heritage held in common for all humanity to be used to end poverty, hunger, homelessness and disadvantage through lack of education.

At the moment such an idea sounds so thoroughly unrealistic and utopian it is difficult to imagine anything of the sort ever arising out of the ashes of what is fast becoming the end of the Imperial American Republic. And, indeed, if it were up to those who control the monetary system, no such vision of a more just and equitable society would ever be allowed to take root in the minds of people everywhere. But that is just the point. It isn't up to "them"(tm) it is up to US to begin the transition from one form of civilization to another. What is most needed is for great minds all over the world to begin to work together toward a shared aim and goal, applying our ever increasing scientific and technological know-how to solve the fundamental problems of human society. We must shake ourselves awake from the growing nightmare that has been human history (especially in the West) for at least the last three hundred years. Global transformation is a real possibility and is, it seems to me, actually inevitable. The question is, who is going to make the decisions -- an elite who wish to preserve an outdated economic system that maintains class disparity -- or an egalitarian movement that understands that one of the most important resources humanity has is its cultural and individual diversity.

If we begin to move in this new direction -- I will stop requesting that they "Beam Me Up". For this kind of peace and justice based in the reality that peace and justice can NEVER BE HAD under the current global monetary system, I am willing to work and endure on this planet for the remainder of my life.

Edit for clarity
