Rumours around You Tube evidence HAARP caused China Earthquake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8LMvqT7Hjw

Does a Sichuan large earthquake have the possibility of executing HAARP?
Two hours before the earthquake. Iridescent clouds appeared in the sky. About 30 minutes.
May 12 2008
Taking a picture is "甘粛省天水市 - Gansu (province) Tianshui-city. "
The victim took a video with the cellular phone.

I'm not saying that this is anything but I did want DUERS to know that there are other videos out there claiming this
Reasoning is US oil companies are mad at China for winning bids all over the world as they loose them
The usual signature from HAARP is a aurora borealis kinda effect in the clouds do to heating up the ionosphere

and theese Iridescent clouds were filmed two hours before the event

People who have worked HAARP has said it can affect weather and even earthquakes

Sichuan province is one of the most populated areas and it has a nuclear testing and research facility also

I know its a long shot but just letting ya all know about the rumours out there

If the US did do this and China caught them

OUCH

7. Oh Wow I didn't know this call me one of those stupid citizens
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earthquake_light

An earthquake light is an unusual luminous aerial phenomenon, similar in appearance to the aurora borealis, that is supposed to appear in the sky at or near areas of tectonic stress, seismic activity or volcanic eruptions. Scientific evidence for the presence of lights is sketchy, given that there are few references documenting the phenomenon.

The night before the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, many people in Tangshan reported seeing strange lights.

In Peru's earthquake that occurred south of Lima on August 15 2007, earthquake lights could be seen across the Lima sky before and during the earthquake. Several videos were taken.

The lights appeared 30 mins before the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, a 7.8 magnitude quake.

. One theory suggests that earthquake lights are a form of plasma discharge caused by the release of gases from within the Earth and are electrically charged in the air.

Another possible explanation is local disruption of the Earth's magnetic field and/or ionosphere in the region of tectonic stress, resulting in the observed glow effects either from ionospheric radiative recombination at lower altitudes and greater atmospheric pressure or as aurora. However, the effect is clearly not pronounced or notably observed at all earthquake events and is yet to be directly experimentally verified.

Another explanation involves intense electric fields created piezoelectrically by tectonic movements of rocks containing quartz<3>

WOW Wikipedia has this in it already WHOAH Good Call

but you do know that this is a theory not proven and they are not sure of this phenomenon

Thanks for the information I learn something everytime

You do know that HAARP disrupt the ionosphere and causes this phenomenon

Right

13. Yes, I know it's "just a theory"
Edited on Sun May-18-08 12:54 AM by fiziwig
And don't forget Newton's "Theory of gravity" is also "just a theory".

There is NOTHING stronger in science than "a theory". A theory is a scientific hypothesis that has withstood rigorous testing. The word "theory" in science has a VERY different meaning from the word "theory" in common non-scientific conversation, where "just a theory" is synonymous with "half-assed idea off the top of my head".

Actually, though, earthquakes lights are not "a theory" at this point, they are an observation. The fact that they happen is a fact. WHY they happen is where theory comes into play.

15. Yes they are a fact and there are it looks like from WIKI
three theories

The precise mechanism, if such a phenomenon exists - as opposed to being coincidence with aurora or mistaken recall after a traumatic event such as an earthquake - is unknown.

Another explanation involves intense electric fields created piezoelectrically by tectonic movements of rocks containing quartz

You see THREE THEORIES

and IF such a phenomenon exists

But WE DO KNOW that HAARP heats up (disrupts) the Earths magnetic field and or ionosphere and this phenomenon has been videoed after a HAARP burst

so dumb People how did THEY EVER THINK that HAARP might be a possibility

Some people are clueless

It looks the phenomenon is fairly well-documented so I think we can safely say that it does exist, even if we don't yet know exactly what causes.

I think wikipedia needs to clean up that article. The way it is now, it sounds like the existence of this phenomenon is pure speculation by kooks.

14. Big difference between
"speculated" by some wild-eyed crackpot, and "theorized" by qualified geophysicists.

There is not one single reputable scientist who has ever suggested that ionospheric changes could cause earthquakes. The possibility of a mechanism of causation is just completely outside anything known by modern physics.

16. Well heres HAARPS Home page
http://www.haarp.alaska.edu /

Notice the Aurora Borealis picture ...pretty huh

The HAARP program is jointly managed by the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Office of Naval Research. The facility is being constructed by commercial contractors through a contract with ONR

I will point out for a Research Station managed by the AirForce and Naval Research this appears to be a weapon

cause if it wasn't why don't they have a University or civilains work there

but Others just are crackpots

Thanks to the more penetrating properties of VLF and ELF, advancements in underwater and underground research and applications are now possible. This may lead to improved methods for submarine communication and the ability to remotely sense the mineral content of the terrestrial subsurface, among other things. from HAARP wikipedia
I might be wrong here but doesn't it have the ability to penetrate the terrestial subsurface using the signal so they can see minerals and oil deposits

Who are the people that conduct research at HAARP?

The scientists who conduct research at HAARP are university physicists, their students, government scientists and scientists from commercial firms having an interest in communication and radio science theory and applications.

What Universities have participated in the HAARP program?

Several universities have played a major role in HAARP from its inception to the present time including the University of Alaska, The Leland Stanford University, Penn State University (ARL), Boston College, Dartmouth University, Cornell University, University of Maryland, University of Massachusetts, MIT, Polytechnic University, UCLA, Clemson University and the University of Tulsa. The development of the program objectives and initial design concept, selection of the prime contractor, development of diagnostic equipment, and the planning of research campaigns have all been heavily dependent on university involvement. University students and professors make up the majority of attendees at the annual Ionospheric Interactions Workshop where progress in ionospheric research is reported.

71. I read their facts and it says US NAVY and US Airforce
are connected with it

If it is not secret why did NATO and US Military refuse to
to send anyone to testify at the European Parliament hearing asking what HAARP is after they were invited to speak there

http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/site/en/oj/1999/c_1...

NOONE showed up

The European Parliament took notice of HAARP on January 28, 1999, and included it in the "Resolution on the environment, security and foreign policy" (A4-0005/99; published May 7, 1999; p. C 128/92 of the Official Journal of the European Communities) . Here is some of the relevant text:

The European Parliament ... having regard to the hearing on HAARP and Non-lethal Weapons held by its Foreign Affairs Subcommitee on Security and Disarmament in Brussels on 5 February 1998 ... whereas, despite the existing conventions, military research is ongoing on environmental manipulation as a weapon, as demonstrated for example by the Alaska-based HAARP system ...

24. Considers HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project) by virtue of its far-reaching impact on the environment to be a global concern and calls for its legal, ecological and ethical implications to be examined by an international independent body before any further research and testing; regrets the repeated refusal of the United States Administration to send anyone in person to give evidence to the public hearing or any subsequent meeting held by its competent committee into the environmental and public risks connected with the HAARP programme currently being funded in Alaska;

What causes them? Piezoelectricy? I'm going to have to look this up. Sounds like an interesting phenomenon.

Edited to add: I majored in geology for a short while before changing my mind, so you'd think I'd be more likely to have heard of this than most?

China has our technology. Bush does things around the world which we will have to pay for in the end. It is crazy not to impeach him. Everyday is dangerous.

I couldn't believe he is threatening the American people with another 911 if Republicans can't continue to fight against "terrorist". Funny Bush knew about "them" yet did nothing. How can we be safe under Republicans if they won't protect us?

Edited on Sun May-18-08 02:10 AM by mac2
just prior to the water rising. Congressman Shays made fun of them during the hearings on CSPAN regarding Katrina. New Orleans had survived many level three hurricanes. They didn't get the level four like the rest of the coast.

FEMA failed to allow help and even caused death.

It was strange that the Congress would accept the President not allowing help to arrive or even demand those who failed us be fired. He promotes them instead because they were successful in destroying the area for political reasons.

It was just unthinkable for us and the world. Are they on drugs?

911 was the same with no jets coming to protect NY, PA, or DC. How did they know it was the only attack?

but my point remains: Hearing a loud "boom" doesn't mean you heard a bomb. It just means you heard a loud boom. The rest is interpretation.

I think it's nonsensical to think they purposely exploded the levees in such a way it left no evidence.

50. Yes, I did watch it
and again, people reporting that they heard loud booms - even if they say they heard "bombs" - doesn't mean they heard bombs. They interpreted the boom to be a bomb.

What physical evidence did the hearings produce that indicate the levees were bombed? People hearing loud noises is not sufficient to conclude that the levees were bombed.

38. Well, that theory proves the earthquake was an action by the Chinese govt.
After all, they're the only ones with the manpower, money, and machinery to execute this fiendish plot. Here we naively thought they were opening up their markets for monetary gain, but in fact, they were merely using the new 'industrial growth' to hide their monstrous 'earthquake plot'/ population control plan.

How else can we explain the Chinese government's swift response to this crisis. The Chinese premier and tens of thousands of troops on site in hours. Yes, HOURS, not days.

I think FEMA needs to send an efficiency commission to China to see exactly how a disaster response should be competently executed.

24. Okay, let me explain how completely idiotic this idea is.
"I'm not saying that this is anything but I did want DUERS to know that there are other videos out there claiming this"

Right, so you're just propagating total nonsense, and suggesting that it's possible. Got it. :eyes:

"The usual signature from HAARP is a aurora borealis kinda effect in the clouds do to heating up the ionosphere"

Uh, no. The effects of HAARP are barely noticible with scientific instruments--there's no way in hell you could see an effect with the naked eye.

"and theese Iridescent clouds were filmed two hours before the event"

Do a Google search for "earthquake lights." This has been a well known phenomenon for almost 2500 years.

"People who have worked HAARP has said it can affect weather and even earthquakes"

No, kooks and lunatics have said that. Nobody with an ounce of scientific knowledge actually believes any of that, because they know what HAARP actually is and what it does. All this nonsense about weather control, earthquakes, or shooting satellites out of the sky is pure 100% pseudoscience, which any rational person should recognize.

Turning out to be reliable predictors of epicenters.

It's tough to feel Nature is turning on you, that Mother Earth doesn't give a shit about you. Much more comforting to feel that all this is within the control and province of Man...and, if only we rally ourselves and accept the truth, we can change it.

52. Exactly that was my point it doesn't matter if we know HAARP
didn't do it but if the Chinese think so then that could be quite horrible for us

There are rumours that Japan's president was threatened by a earthquake near a nuclear reactor if they didn't support the dollar
and then there was a huge earthquake near a nuclear reactor.

So what all of you are saying is that HAARP doesn't have the capablility to cause Earthquakes

but my answer is that only our AirForce knows and Navy knows that for sure

because Top Secret means Top Secret

I will add that maybe we don't know what HAARP does but other governments do

I will also add that Russia has made many flyby trips over Alaska

and I think their first objective in war will be too take out HAARP

Putin's little silent message in case Russia gets a surprise

I hope you guys are right that HAARP is innocent and there is nothing to worry about

Dagda a ancient Celtic god had a magical Harp that summon the seasons
we have our own magical HAARP

70. european Parliament asking questions about HAARP
Edited on Sun May-18-08 06:55 PM by lovuian
http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/site/en/oj/1999/c_1...

24. Considers HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project) by virtue of its far-reaching impact on the environment to be a global concern and calls for its legal, ecological and ethical implications to be examined by an international independent body before any further research and testing; regrets the repeated refusal of the United States Administration to send anyone in person to give evidence to the public hearing or any subsequent meeting held by its competent committee into the environmental and public risks connected with the HAARP programme currently being funded in Alaska;

25. Requests the Scientific and Technological Options Assessment (STOA) Panel to agree to examine the scientific and technical evidence provided in all existing research findings on HAARP to assess the exact nature and degree of risk that HAARP poses both to the local and global environment and to public health generally;

http://vfpdissident.blogspot.com/2007/12/haarp-files.ht...

Here is the answer to the investigation by european parliament

Here is relevant text from the "explanatory statement" of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence Policy:

HAARP - a weapons system which disrupts the climate

On 5 February 1998 Parliament's Subcommittee on Security and Disarmament held a hearing the subject of which included HAARP. NATO and the US had been invited to send representatives, but chose not to do so. The Committee regrets the failure of the USA to send a representative to answer questions, or to use the opportunity to comment on the material submitted.(21)

HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project) is run jointly by the US Air Force and Navy, in conjunction with the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Similar experiments are also being conducted in Norway, probably in the Antarctic, as well as in the former Soviet Union.(22) HAARP is a research project using a ground based apparatus, an array of antennae each powered by its own transmitter, to heat up portions of ionosphere with powerful radio beams.(23) The energy generated heats up parts of the ionosphere; this results in holes in the ionosphere and produces artificial 'lenses'.

With its far-reaching impact on the environment HAARP is a matter of global concern and we have to ask whether its advantages really outweigh the risks. The environmental impact and the ethical aspect must be closely examined before any further research and testing takes place. HAARP is a project of which the public is almost completely unaware, and this needs to be remedied.

HAARP has links with 50 years of intensive space research for military purposes, including the Star Wars project, to control the upper atmosphere and communications. This kind of research has to be regarded as a serious threat to the environment, with an incalculable impact on human life. Even now nobody knows what impact HAARP may have. We have to beat down the wall of secrecy around military research, and set up the right to openness and democratic scrutiny of military research projects, and parliamentary control.

A series of international treaties and conventions (the Convention on the prohibition of military or any other hostile use of environmental modification techniques, the Antarctic Treaty, the Treaty on principles governing the activities of states in the exploration and use of outer space including the moon and other celestial bodies, and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea) casts considerable doubt on HAARP on legal as well as humanitarian and political grounds. The Antarctic Treaty lays down that the Antarctic may be used exclusively for peaceful purposes.(25) This would mean that HAARP is a breach of international law. All the implications of the new weapons systems should be examined by independent international bodies. Further international agreements should be sought to protect the environment from unnecessary destruction in war.

77. so, in a country with the worst pollution in the history of the planet,
a funky rainbow in the clouds (one that disappears when the camera zooms out) is assumed to be some sort of US superweapon?

And I thought Americans were stupid.
