where were you when you started doubting the official story.
http://www.teambio.org/2006/08/where-were-you-when-you-... /

Normally, I dont get my news from television. Im not saying that proudlyas though Im too good to absorb the din and clamor of the opiate of the masses, predigested spin-doctored effluvia thats seasoned heavily with propaganda. Nope, Im saying that because I have a secretthe images of daily news are too horrific for me. What I see flashes straight through to my soul, bypassing the usual editorial board obstacle course that reason and logic have constructed over the decades. I mostly get my news from online, especially Google News (untouched by human hands), Truthout, and from my favorite blogs, Dont Be a Lemming, Bring It On, Postman Patel, and Robert Lindsay. Im also fond of Newsweek (I simply filter out some of their Conservative leanings).

But when September 11 hit with a giant smash on the psyche of the world, I became a televisio-drombie-zoid. I hardly slept or ate for days. I simply stared vacantly at the screen, surfed channels, and cried. The images of those little bodies casting themselves out of the towers into certain death, well, they are seared into me indelibly.

1. In a Palo Alto hotel lounge on September 11
watching CNN and wondering if I'd ever see my family again.

As soon as the media whores started telling the official lie, it had holes a mile wide all through it.

2. After a lecture given by an OCT advocate, I stopped by the
activists' table outside and picked up a xeroxed pamphlet outlining about
25 fatal flaws in the official story. I'd always assumed that the entire
9/11 air war was over in twenty minutes or so--that NORAD had no time
to react to simultaneous attacks. I was shocked that it lasted more than
an hour and a half.

Since then I've found that most OCT believers make major assumptions
favorable to the OCT case in order to preserve their complacency.

After reading about half the pamphlet I said "Woah! If even half this stuff
is true, we're in big trouble!" It was ALL true.

4. I'm embarrassed to say that they had me fooled until mid 2003.
Then I got DSL, got rid of AOL-hell and started to get a clue. I was so freaked out and saddened by 9/11 that I really believed in Osama and his big bad band of terrorists. :eyes:

Livid doesn't begin to describe how I felt when I found out who the "real" terrorist were! :grr:

That's why I think that the truth about 9/11 is KEY to turning this country around. Once the majority of people know exactly what PNAC/BFEE has done to this country and it's people-watch out!!!

6. They had me 'til autumn of 2004
While trying to find the lies in "Fahrenheit 911" I stumbled into a
website showing photos of the WTC squibs. I assumed they were somebody's
sick photoshopped joke, and if not for the efforts of local activists and
scholars I would probably still think so.

8. What would happen if more people had access to this info?
What if the corporate news media put out a few stories that gave people even a bit of a hint?! The blankety blank would hit the fan for sure! Instead they've kept silent about everything for their own financial benefit. Disgust and contempt doesn't begin to describe how I feel about all of them! :grr:

I hope and pray that if Michael Moore comes out with a Fahrenheit 9/11 1/2, he openly exposes LIHOP/MIHOP! There would be NO way for * or the media to stop him either!

when I had a chance to see what the mainstream media was cooking up.

It wasn't until after I saw the video lecture from David Ray Griffith that I realized it wasn't simply LIHOP it was MIHOP.

7. Nov. 10, 2001, I was watching the re-broadcast of...
President George Walker Bush's speech to the UN;

"We must speak the truth about terror. Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th; malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists, themselves, away from the guilty."

I was on my couch. I had no idea what he was talking about. I do now.

9. Right here, reading this forum
And while I don't buy the conspiracy theories, I DO NOT believe the government that did all it can to cover up, delay, and otherwise hinder any investigation into the attacks.

It's incompetence at least, LIHOP at most though.

10. in dec.01' when I heard Osama was trapped inside Tora Bora
and then was allowed to escape. Also, when both he and his Dick blew off any independent investigation of 911.

Sadly, I confess on 911 I supported the president or should I say America. Let's get those arabs who did this.
but as the weeks and months passed I grew suspicious of these 2 scumbag complicit in murder of 3,000 my thumbs down and in 2004 when I bought this computer I found Paul Thompson's Timeline and was absolutely convinced 911 was an inside job. It was after I viewed Eyewitness to 911 and hearing those massive explosions
(with earphones) did I accept MIHOP.
LIHOP was equally treasonous but today its MIHOP.

Why no follow up on the 5 Israeli mossad agents caught videotaping the events of 911. How did they know to be across the Hudson River prior to the attacks? Their answer,we were following these arabs for some time (they knew) bush knew dick knew asscroft knew many in the FBI knew but not a word was leaked out.

Still I feel 911 is unraveling and the perps will either nuke us into Martial Law or face prosecution.

11. 8:00 p.m., September 11
At the time I was working at a local news station. I saw every square inch of raw footage on the network feed. I read every word of every wire story and every Web story till the news sites crashed. I was completely immersed in it and clinging to going through the motions of my job to keep from freaking out. As I drove home several hours later than I'd usually leave, I kept the radio off (at that point I couldn't bear to hear one more word about it) and then I started to think as I came out of my daylong shock.

When I got home, Mr. MorningGlow was glued to the TV, of course. I walked into the living room and hugged him tightly. The first thing I said was, "Where were the intercept planes?" Mr. MG, a Republican (god bless him anyway), said something like "Their scramble orders were all screwed up. People made mistakes."

For half the morning?

I didn't buy his grasping-at-straws answer, and I haven't bought one word of the official story since.

12. Doubted it a couple months after
Of course when it happened I was horrified as anybody else. But it wasn't long before I questioned it.
I tend to be pretty skeptical about anything on TV or coming from the political loudspeakers. You always have to look behind the scenes.

I've studied architecture. I knew at the time that there was something not quite right about how the buildings collapsed on themselves and fell straight down. That just seemed impossible to me, given what I know about how those buildings are built. They would have crumbled from fire in higher floors, not imploded within seconds. Then when I saw the footage of WTC 7, not even hit by planes, going straight down at freefall speed also, I thought WTF!?! NO way. At the same time I saw that the average viewer was not going to question this. I appreciate the work of the Scholars for Truth in dealing with the structural issues. They have made an important contribution.

I don't even care to debate the question of whether the planes took the buildings down or not at this point. Quite simply, I don't believe they did, period. All the rest of the arguments just add to the evidence for a cover-up. Given what we now know about this administration, it's very plausible that they are connected with this case of the mysterious self-destructing towers. I have no problem believing they are capable of collusion in it. I don't even follow the ins and outs of the 9-11 arguments now. The public deserves a full investigation, which we never got.

For me, it was the footage of the buildings falling. And that skepticism has now been validated.

13. Absolutely mg..
I knew something was amiss when #7 went down so neatly and quickly without even being hit by a plane. Then I started reading on the net. I found out about PNAC and that was a big part. It was their catalizing event that they needed.
Everyone should read their website's documents. Especially "Rebuilding America's Defenses" IMO.
The recent NORAD tapes just confirm that the truth is being deliberately covered up by the government. Why wouldn't they release clear and accurate proof? Why stonewall "Able Danger"?
It's obvious they knew Atta. Where he was and what he was doing!

There are just TOO many questions....Interesting how different people on this thread respond to different aspects of the story as being the clincher for them.

The more the Hindenberg deflates, the more the preposterous seems possible.

14. That morning, listening to the radio while commuting to work
I knew something was fishy when they broke in about the plane that went down, the "Lets Roll" one. An announcer came over all breathless and said "that airplane is no longer a threat." It sounded like the type of thing that would come out of the military. So I figured that they shot the plane down, but then nothing more was said about it. Then the story started changing and being obviously made up. And the lies started getting bigger.

I told my co-workers that morning that Bush did it. They all scoffed at me. They aren't scoffing so much any more.

16. It took me several weeks to overcome the denial that our government
...just might be covering up far more than they were letting on even for national security reasons. That was also when I began to do a lot more web searching to try to get to the root and truth of the situation. By November 2001 I had become totally convinced the administration, the Pentagon and the media were hiding a lot from the American public.

17. I was at home watching 9/11 unfold on the TV. And I thought to myself,
well, maybe it's the Arab terrorists and maybe it's not.

It's just so easy to jump to conclusions about any event that one doesn't have real access to.

And there are plenty of events that were sold to us one way and then turned out to be another way. From the JFK assassination to Vietnam, to Nicaragua, to the war on drugs, to the 2000 election, and many more, it's a never ending scam to manipulate the public mind to accept what few, if any, would accept if they had access to the information and thought about it.

As the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, unfolded, as the Administration did everything it could to have no investigation and then to impede the investigation it already had manipulated, it became clear that we were witnessing yet another con job.

So for me, it wasn't a dramatic realization, it was instead the confirmation of one of the possibilities that the original event posed.

That and the knowledge that the bush crime family is truly capable of anything.

18. In my living room
In my living room watching all the major US channels showing shots of the aircraft hitting WTC 2 and the towers collapsing over and over again at about 10 or 15 minute intervals interspersed only with the media talking head anouncers interviewing retired generals, Pentagon spokespeople, "security" analysts etc., pretty well all of them pinning the blame on Osama and/or Al Quaida, and evil-doing, radical fundamentalist Muslims.

To me it instinctively had more of a feel of a gigantic psychological warfare/brainwashing exercise implimented, perhaps with the use of patsies and fall guys, by rogue elements within the intelligence services or from within the neocon/PNAC group rather than a genuine, "out of the blue" strike by evil-doing, religious fanatics acting on their own - the purpose of course being to instill fear and terror in the population in order to encourage everyone to give up civil rights without protest and to "follow the leader", however inept, bungling and unqalified he might previously have appeared to be, without question.

You had to attack civilians, the people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple: to force ... the public to turn to the state to ask for greater security.

19. My father, a former Air Force fighter pilot,
told me the pilot of flight 77 had to be a very well trained pilot to fly a 767 at that speed and flight path impacting perfectly into the Pentagon. When news reports indicated Hanjour was a very poor pilot and had trouble handling a single prop Cessna, his response was "Complete and utter BS." My serious doubts began then.

23. Soon as I turned on the TV on 9/11
Every since the Bush mob had seen themselves compelled to openly steal an election so as to return to power officially, I had been making jokes, I must confess, about when the next Reichstag fire would occur, as a way to justify World Wars 3-6. Seeing it actually unfold was not at all funny but the timing and the spectacular nature of it made it obvious that the initial hypothesis to favor was of a covert operation, a coup d'etat. Over the following months the evidence constantly bore it out.
