Israel uses new crowd-dispersal tactic

<snip>

"The Israeli army has unveiled a new crowd-dispersal tactic, emitting painful bursts of sound at a special frequency to help break up a violent Palestinian demonstration.

Israeli military officials confirmed soldiers used a new "non-lethal" tactic yesterday in the West Bank village of Bilin, where hundreds of demonstrators rallied against Israel's separation barrier.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity under army regulations, said the weapon uses "voice frequencies" to disperse crowds.

They said Israel developed the technology over the past four years, but had never used it in a live situation before yesterday. No further details were immediately available."

4. They did for the longest time
actually, they also preferred attack helicopters to do the job, too. They will continue to abuse Palestinians in an unacceptable manner and that is wrong.

5. Non-lethal
Until the Occupation is over, I would think that Israel using non-lethal crowd control would be palatable. Are some of the actions still a mess? Sure they are, but now people will be able to live and prosper in the new homeland they are fighting for.

I just find it interesting that no matter what Israel does, she is never right...always looking for new ways to take land, ploys (like releasing prisoners they promised to release), now, new ways to torture people using non-lethal means....is ANYTHING Israel does acceptable?!

6. Palatable?
"Palatable" would be a pullout from Palestinian land. Anything less is a sour taste in the mouths of people who want some respect. Perhaps Israel could try to give Palestinians land and peace, or at least let them protest.

If you are referring to Israel when you say "the new homeland", I hope you are kidding. This reeks like the people who say that "well, we may have done some messed up things in Iraq, but at least we're defending freedom and fighting them over there instead of over here" :banghead:

I would applaud Israel's actions if they were a bit justified and not self-serving. However, this is not the case at all.

7. Meanwhile....
The pullout has not happened, so in the meantime, I find it palatable that non-lethal force is being used! Should Israel just hand over the land right now?! That would work. :eyes: There is a process to make it is a smooth as possible and it will take time, both sides see that.

Are you joking?! You thought I was referring to Israel?! Israel IS a country, much to the disdain of many world-wide, but a nation, nonetheless! I was talking about the new Palestinian homeland! How did you even come to that conclusion when I said..."but now people will be able to live and prosper in the new homeland they are fighting for?" Israel is not fighting for a NEW homeland, they are trying to maintain the one they have.

And, as I said, some will NEVER see ANY good from Israel. They will ALWAYS see her as the "bad guy" and always "self-serving." Sharon could withdraw from the territories TODAY and people would still BITCH and MOAN! "It was too fast! The left the Palestinians in a lurch! Blah, blah, blah!"

There are two sides to this conflict, but it seems that one bears ALL of the burden and the other gets off scott-free.

People should read them.
