Refuseniks protest against Rafah operation, call for Gaza withdrawal

Around 100 Israeli refuseniks and bereaved parents demonstrated outside the defence ministry late Monday to protest at the army's operations in Rafah and call for an immediate pullout from Gaza, an organiser said.
Holding up black flags and signs reading, "It will never end until we refuse", the protestors called on the Israeli government to "bring the soldiers home".
"We are trying to prevent this operation in Rafah, first of all because hundreds of Palestinians will lose their homes and also because we fear more soldiers will die there," said Arik Diament, head of the "Courage to Refuse" movement.
Since late last week, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been made homeless in southern Gaza town following two days of intensive demolition activity by the army after 13 of its troops were killed in militant attacks.......
