PA to factions: Leave collaborators to us
The militant Islamic group Hamas agreed Wednesday to let the Palestinian Authority deal with Palestinians suspected of collaborating with Israel, backing off from threats to administer its own justice, Hamas officials said.

The Palestinian Authority on Wednesday warned all Palestinian factions against killing suspected "collaborators" with Israel, saying it was the only party authorized to deal with such people.

A senior PA official disclosed that more than 150 Palestinians were being held by the PA on suspicion of collaboration with Israel. He said the majority of the suspects were arrested in the past three years, and that some had confessed to passing on information to Israel that led to the assassination of Palestinian wanted men.

The official said the PA was planning to bring some of the suspects to trial before special security tribunals in the next few weeks in an attempt to deter others from assisting the Israeli security forces.

1. And now the best part...
"Over the past week, at least four alleged collaborators were killed in separate attacks in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Two of the killings, in Tulkarm and Beit Rima near Ramallah, were claimed by Fatah's armed wing, the al-Aksa Martyrs' Brigades, while Hamas said its members killed another two near the Maghazi refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.

The man killed in Beit Rima was identified as Mohammed Husan, 30. Villagers said he was forced to announce through the loudspeakers of a mosque that he had been collaborating with Israel since 1997 and that he was responsible for the killing of wanted men.

Less than 24 hours after Husan was executed in the village center, the al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades published a statement announcing that he had been killed by mistake and that he was innocent. The group also sent an apology to the victim's family, saying a further investigation revealed that he was not a "traitor."

2. How his family tolerates this I will never know
Had it happened in mine, there would be dead Fatah assholes littering the streets.

I have never seen a place more ripe for civil war. The Palestinian people need to take back their society from these motherfuckers.

6. So much in this....
# 1 The PA *CAN* actually arrest people when it wants.

#2. The PA can hold people in jail after they are arrested.

#3. The PA gives orders to hamas and they listen.

#4. Hamas and al-aqsa believes in swift justice....no need for trials.

#5. The terrorist scum are on a "collaberator" witch hunt and will
arrest and kill anyone. (Who is going to contact HWR,Amnesty
and ICJ?)

7. It's funny how the PA always used JPost and the Moonie Times
for it's "press releases". OTOH the Palestinian factions do
seem to be in touch:

AlBawaba(needs JavaScript)

There is a very funny pic of Arafat there too.

9. I don't think collaborators have ever been welcomed
in resistence movements. War is hell.

10. It is my understanding...
That the most common fate for Palestinians who are discovered to be gay is to be accused of "collaborating" with Israel and summarily executed.

It seems to me that in Palestinian areas, accusations of "collaborating" are synonymous with guilt, and guilt synonymous with summary execution.

At least in Israel there's a high chance a suspected "collaborator" with terrorists will be arrested, tried, and eventually bargained for release. Only the leaders seem to be designated for "extrajudicial killings."

11. Palestinian Authority
police stations and law enforcement personnel have been bombed and shot by the Israelis until they were unable to enforce anything. As was intended, I have no doubt. Without a government, people take justice into their own hands.

BunyThief, do you have a link for the gay situation? I would like to read it if you do.
