Lebanese prisoner misses Israeli jailers
The phone call last Wednesday to the canteen of Ayalon Prison surprised even the most veteran officials, Ma'ariv reported. On the line was Ali Ali, an important Lebanese drug dealer released from jail in the prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah, calling to say he missed them. Ali Ali, 43, was arrested twice by Israel. In the 1980s he spent time in Israeli prison, and in 1999, he was arrested again when he smuggled drugs into Israel. Ali was sentenced to a long prison term, was put in Ayalon Prison, and worked in the jail canteen. In the last four years he made friends with many prisoners. A month ago Ali was released in the prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah and flown to Lebanon via Germany. But he didn't forget his friends in Israel. On Wednesday he called, asked about the prisoners and asked to hear the latest news. "He told us he misses us," said one prisoner. The Prisons Service was surprised to hear of the call from Lebanon. "We're glad to hear he misses us," a Prisons Service official said, "but we would prefer he never come back."

Oh, my. It appears Ali has not been advised of the brutality of Israeli jailers. It seems he is ruining a perfectly good lie.
