Carter: Obama must make good on Nobel Prize and back Palestinian statehood
Carter says Arab Spring has created opportunities for resolving conflicts in Middle East, comparing it to political reality in which he, as president, helped broker peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.

U.S. President Barack Obama needs to make good on the promises that won him the Nobel Peace Prize, fellow laureate and former U.S. president Jimmy Carter said on Thursday. Carter called on the current American president to back the Palestinian’s bid to the UN for statehood and seize the opportunity provided by the Arab Spring to facilitate Palestinian-Israeli peace.

The shaking up of authoritarian rule in the Arab world has created opportunities for resolving conflicts in the Middle East, Carter said, comparing the Arab Spring to the political reality in which he, as president, helped broker the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt.

Carter reiterated his support for the Palestinians’ push for recognition of statehood in the United Nations, saying he hoped they would secure backing in the UN General Assembly to at least enhance their status in the body. However, he said the U.S. veto in the Security Council would block full membership.

"The United States will veto any move in the Security Council if they get the votes there, which I think is a mistake. But that's the privilege of the president to decide," he said during a brief visit to Oslo to meet Norwegian diplomats.

20. your article tries to conflate the outcome of a single congressional district
where Jews according to your article are 36% of the population with the outcome of a Presidential election in a state where Jews are about 3% to 5% of the population two very different things IMO, in 2008 Obama won a very narrow victory in Florida however the major issue was the economy and that was the deciding factor among all voters

it is nice to that according to you Jews in Florida are happy with Obama but once again you fail to be specific as to just exactly why that is

11. Sigh , do you know anything about Jews? USA Jews? Maybe not.
It looks like a sweet start to the Jewish New Year for President Obama. According to a new poll by Democratic PPP, the recent panic over Obama’s standing with Jewish voters is little cause for concern in Florida, which has one of the largest Jewish populations in the nation.

Maybe your unaware? BUT Israel is very very very important to the overwhelming Majority of Jews.

18. Nah its not a 'claim'
Democratic Party wins largest percentage of Jewish support since 1994. Elections expert: Jews voted for candidates good for Israel, but also focused on other issues

19. So, explain how it is yr claiming Jews think exactly the same...
It would have been interesting to see you explain why you think Jews all think the same rather than just fling around another wild claim about what most Jews think...

Rather than take the word of someone on the internet who may or not be what they claim, I just rang my cousin who's a community leader here, and he said anyone who tries to lump the majority of, or all Jews into one singleminded mass knows nothing about Jews and is more than likely coming from a very dark and ugly place with what they say..

;)

87 percent of Jews vote Democrat

25. It helps to remember what you posted in post # 4
You said: 'The Jews In Florida are Happy with Obama as is'..

Probably a good idea to stop trying to change the goalposts by forgetting what you said a few posts ago. Yr TOUCHDOWN!!!! like all the others you trumpet in this forum are the ones where yr running in wrong direction and scoring one for the opposing team. Keep up the good work...

btw, are you trying to break the record for the highest number of replies by one DUer to a single post? If you forget something (in this case you seem to be just repeating the same stuff over and over again), you can re-edit yr first reply within the one hour editing period. Not the way to go for those who are trying to build up their post count, though :)

32. Scintillating? Hardly...
If anything, watching paint dry would be more scintillating than an exchange where someone claims, not for the first time, that Jews think the same thing, and then goes into a frenzy of replying repeatedly to the same post with nonsensical replies when it's pointed out to them that fixations with how Jews vote and thinking they all think the same way is kinda creepy.

What? Yr going to show my posts to yr friends and they'll laugh at me? I'm terribly cut up over this, as I have such a high opinion of yr friends and all I want is their respect!! ;)

33. the YNet link is about Congressional elections not Presidential
and if the outcome of the last Congressional election was any indicator unfortunately Jewish voters do not have quite enough influence on the who comes out as the majority

34. I'd forgotten about Obama's Nobel prize.
He wouldn't have gotten it if they'd known how his administration was going to behave now. Carter's right, of course. Obama should make good on his Nobel Prize, though I doubt he'd give it back if he doesn't and don't think anyone would really expect him to. Acting against the spirit of what he got the Nobel Prize for is a massive dissapointment, imo...
