Unexploded bombs 'major threat' for Gaza
CHILDREN in the Gaza Strip face a "major" threat from unexploded munitions despite the ceasefire, the international Red Cross has warned after two youngsters were killed in explosions.

The International Committee of the Red Cross said today that the unexploded shells and bombs scattered around the densely populated coastal strip represented "another major new danger" and could hamper much-needed aid.

3. Serious problem..
For nearby example, Israeli shells and cluster bombs are still injuring and killing people regularly in Lebanon. This will be a problem for a long time to come.

On the other hand Gaza's militants can do what many Chechens have done, and make those 'generous gifts' back into the problem of those who dropped them; they would wire radio transmitters to the many shells and bombs left laying around Dzhokhar (the city formerly named after Tsar Ivan IV Groznyy) and thus turned them into highly effective anti-tank/transport devices, macabrely (--is that even a word?!) thanking the enemy for providing them with such advanced weaponry.

To me it seems illogical, to use such an indescriminate weapon in the dense area along with their own ground troops. Not that I think it morally beyond the invader (they have demonstrated in the past a great fondness for dropping them and literally by the million over other certain occupied territories), it just wouldn't make sense in context with the rest of the assault.. End result: not certain.

7. Nothing concrete, early claims, nothing heard since
Would be dumb if there was potential of your own troops going there.

Even with the greatly improved failure rates, if some were used, there will be duds.
