Doctors shocked at hostages's torture
They said that just one look at the bodies of the dead hostages as well as terrorists showed it was a battle of attrition that was fought over three days at the Oberoi and the Taj hotels in Mumbai.

Doctors working in a hospital where all the bodies, including that of the terrorists, were taken said they had not seen anything like this in their lives.

"Bombay has a long history of terror. I have seen bodies of riot victims, gang war and previous terror attacks like bomb blasts. But this was entirely different. It was shocking and disturbing," a doctor said.

--snip---

The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.

Corroborating the doctors' claims about torture was the information that the Intelligence Bureau had about the terror plan. "During his interrogation, Ajmal Kamal said they were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis," an IB source said.

2. disgusting
what's just as bad is that some are trying to downplay or minimize the blatant antisemitic hatred that was on clear display here.

3. Why yes it all about antisemitism wasn't it?
those other 165 victims do not count do they? Or they just don't count as much nor does the history between the Hindu's and Muslims in not just India but Mumbai.
Yes antisemitism was a part of this but the entire story by any means but I guess for some it is best to keep it real simple.

nice strawman you build and then knock down rather easily.

i totally agree that antisemitism is PART of this....others here saw no connection to I/P and argued that the Jews killed were just part of the overall 200 killed....just in the wrong place at the wrong time, as if they weren't singled out in particular.

and of course the other 200 "count"....they were killed out of hatred as well...they were hindus, christians, non-muslims...etc. This is a horrible hate crime.

6. from the earlier thread:-
Because the Mumbai attacks weren't about grievances between India and Pakistan, about Kashmir, or anything of the sort.

They were anti-Western, anti-American, anti-Zionist and mostly anti-Jewish, as all Islamic terrorism is.

I shudder to think of what they went through in the final hours the only bright spot was that the young of the couple killed was safe with his Grandparents in Israel

Mumbai attacks: Jews tortured before being executed during hostage crisis

Israeli hostages killed by Islamic terrorists during the attacks on Mumbai (formerly Bombay) were tortured by their captors before they were bound together and killed, according to officials in both countries.

Jewish victims made up a disproportionate number of the foreigners killed after 10 Muslim fanatics stormed a series of sites in the Indian financial capital.

Members of the beleaguered Jewish community in Mumbai gathered at a crumbling synagogue for a memorial for Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and his wife Rivka, who ran the cultural centre targeted by the Deccan Mujahideen.

The couple's son, Moshe survived after his nanny, Sandra Samuel escaped with him in her arms 10 hours after the hostage incident started. The child cried "Ima" and "Dada," or mummy and daddy, as the service began.

Mosche's grandparents have arrived from Israel to take the orphaned boy home and there is intense pressure to grant Miss Samuel a visa by declaring her righteous among the gentiles.

Two countries have posted officials at the JJ Hospital morgue but there are at least twice as many Israeli disaster specialists as British consuls representing the former colonial power.

10. Mumbai doctor finds no signs of torture on Chabad House bodies
A hospital doctor at Mumbai's JJ Hospital, which received the bodies of six Jewish and Israeli hostages from the Chabad House terrorist siege, has cast doubt on a report claiming that signs of torture were apparent on the bodies of the victims.

Dr. Gajanan Chawan, who saw the bodies, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday he did not believe the wounds he observed suggested the hostages had been tortured prior to their deaths.

Asked if he saw any evidence of torture on the bodies, Chawan replied, "No, I don't think so." He added that the majority of the wounds he could identify had been caused by firearms.

On Monday, a morgue employee at the JJ hospital who had also seen the bodies told the Post by telephone that the bodies of the Jewish victims had a higher number of gunshot wounds than the bodies of other victims.

"On the Jewish bodies, there were more injuries in numbers, they were firearms injuries," the morgue official said.

11. Yeah, I've been reading reports saying the same thing...
I guess it goes to show that when huge attacks like Mumbai happen, it's not till the dust starts settling that clearer pictures start to emerge about specifics of the attacks...

12. Report: Mumbai terrorists badly tortured Chabad House victims
The terrorists who carried out last month's deadly attacks in Mumbai tortured their victims at the city's Chabad House before killing them, India's Economic Times newspaper has reported.

13. But wait!
I thought these Islamic fundamentalist extremist murderers did not target JEWS in Mumbai!

I thought that this Mumbai attack had nothing whatsoever to do with ongoing ISLAMIC targetting of Israelis and Jews!

It was just luck that they found a small Chabad House, off the beaten path, and hideously tortured everyone inside, but it really had nothing to do with JEWS.

15. Gotcha
because after all, all this terrorism is only about the Israeli "occupation"; it has nothing at all to do with "Jews" or "anti-semitism".

:sarcasm:
