BBC NEWS: Israel 'considers killing Arafat'
Israel 'considers killing Arafat'

The Israeli Government does not exclude killing Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, a cabinet minister has said.

In an interview with Israel Radio, Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said it was now only a practical question of how to get rid of Mr Arafat.

"His expulsion is an option, his liquidation is another option. It is also possible to confine him to prison-like conditions," Mr Olmert said.

The US Secretary of State Colin Powell said Washington had told the Israelis that it did not support "either the elimination or the exile of Mr Arafat".

3. It's OK now
Because the U.S. government openly kills other countries' leaders and then brags about it. It's sickening and shameful.

11. Well
Someone needs to stand up for the good citizens of Israel here. I am tired of the anti-Israeli sentiment here on this board.

Shame on those who put the Palestinians ahead of the good, upstanding citizens of Israel.

22. Palestinians aren't bombing people
Some people who are Palestinians are bombing people. Do you believe that because some black people commit crimes all black people should be held responsible? I am surprised you can't see that your statement is racist.

23. I am not a racist
But I will say that maybe if the Palestinian government actually did something for its people, didn't act in a corrupt fashion, and maybe actually finally took care of the terrorist problem, I would be more sympathetic to it.

Frankly I think they all need to go. Neither Bush, Arafat, Abbass, or Sharon is interested in peace.

25. ON that we agree - none of the principals seem to want
peace, nor to be committed to work for it. I will say, however, that most of the principals CAN control their operations and policies. I think that the Palestinian Athority - whoever the leader - does NOT have control of all of the terrorists - so even if that person (Arafat or Abbas or other) were to want peace - they do not have the power, imo, to make 'their side' (and the violent contingencies), cooperate in ways needed to broker lasting peace.

28. your one liners aren't much support...
not to mention you are supporting terrorism on one side and condoning it on the other which makes you out to be a hypocrite

\Hyp"o*crite\, n. One who plays a part; especially, one who, for the purpose of winning approbation of favor, puts on a fair outside seeming; one who feigns to be other and better than he is; a false pretender to virtue or piety; one who simulates virtue or piety.

The hypocrite's hope shall perish. --Job viii. 13.

I dare swear he is no hypocrite, but prays from his heart. --Shak.

Syn: Deceiver; pretender; cheat. See Dissembler.

8. The Sharon regime is NOT the direct equivalent of "Israel"
Any more than the Bush regime is a direct equivalent of "America,"

Some Israeli policies are justified and/or sane.

This one most assuredly is NOT.

Indeed, it is irresponsible, provocative, criminal, and insane, and will bring only much more war.

So do you just mindlessly support anything that is done in the name of Israel?

This sort of mindlessness is FINE for the Pukeheads, but is SCARY indeed on a supposedly Democratic board.

Besides, there are plenty of rational ISRAELIS who know that this policy is nuts. :puke: :wtf: :dunce: :scared:

21. Criticizing a policy that could further exacerbate a very
bad situation (for both Israelis and Palestinians) does NOT equal not supporting Israel. I view criticizing this policy like quickly slapping a child's hand as the are reaching towards a lit burner on the stove. That slap does not equate not supporting the child - quite the opposite.

it is harder and harder to watch this decline. Do they really think that by killing Arafat anything but more real violence will result?

24. clearly, like our own ideologues, those making these decisions
are so blinded by their "truth" (reconstructed reality to fit the ideology) that they can not see that this would lead to likely steppedl up violence. This is why blind ideology is so very dangerous.

13. Israel f***ed up on this one badly
Even if they are totally bluffing and have NO intention of killing him (which personally I doubt) if ANYTHING happens to him now - i.e. he has a legit heart attack, stroke, etc. or is killed by a third party - it will be seen as Israels doing and they will be subject to the back lash.

VERY VERY stupid move.

29. Good
Well, it's actually bad. I just had to get your attention...

But Israel's stupid comment (which shows how little ability Bushbastard* has, pro-Israel born-again lackie he is, he probably urged them to make the comment) is only going to incite more violence, period. There's going to be a big backlash regardless. And that's very bad, but the leaders are definitely pullng this shit because they WANT it to happen. It's that "bring 'em on" mentality again, and where did we hear that comment before? Bushbastard* himself said it. Bushbastard* is behind this comment of Israel, make no doubt about that.

Hell, this is the beginning of the end of the world. It started Dec 12 2000...

27. I've had it with all of them (and a new nickname for Colin Powell, too!)
ALL leaders of ALL countries (except for France, Germany, Canada, and Russia nd the other countries whose leaders are civilized) should be summarily executed and replaced with PEOPLE, for God's sake.

Okay, that's way too harsh. I agree. Let's lock them ALL up, in padded cells. Solitary confinement with no chance of escape. Food, water, and exercise is optional.

Hatred must end and humanity get back on course as being a civilized species! I'm sick of it, just sick! Hell, I'll go so far as to say I hate it!

Colon Polyp is lying outright, too. Bushbastard* and his cronies would love it if Israel did all the dirty work; it'd make the US look better for once. Remember, Colon did a big 180 on attacking Iraq. I can't trust Colon Polyp anymore. Nobody should.
