1. My High School had a Gun Dungeon...
...that I didn't even know existed when i was going there.

Most people call it a "Pistol range", though.

4. calm down! calm down!

Or so one is being told in Ask the Admins.

We'll see what we see when we see it.

9. I have no problem with the name.
I actually like it. Any previous opposition I might have had about it was because I felt as if the "gungeonites" were being singled out or hidden in the attic like a crazy old uncle.

Besides... someone had to be the first to make a comment about it. B-)

11. "someone had to be the first to make a comment about it"

Like I said, I did already. In the appropriate place.

And I've been told that while I may not like what I see now (and I don't), I'll see what I see when I see it.

I'm reserving judgment.

What I'd be very happy to see is a "Gun Dungeon" and a "Justice Issues Forum", where people who have a serious interest in criminal justice issues, and seriously wish to be informed about those issues, can discuss them seriously. And from a liberal/progressive/democratic perspective.

12. Hmmmm
The implication being that gun issues arent discussed "seriously" or from a "liberal/progressive/democratic perspective".

Very telling.

19. that's funny
The implication being that gun issues arent discussed "seriously" or from a "liberal/progressive/democratic perspective". <emphasis added>

I thought I was talking about criminal justice issues.

Oh look! I was!

What I'd be very happy to see is a "Gun Dungeon" and a "Justice Issues Forum", where people who have a serious interest in criminal justice issues, and seriously wish to be informed about those issues, can discuss them seriously.

Can you look into your teacup and tell me what I was implying about faeries in the garden issues now, maybe?

Very telling.

Indeed that was. Of so many tales.

23. Yep
Its the whole conjunction thing, "and", that probably threw you off. Since you were talking about both in your original statment:

"What I'd be very happy to see is a "Gun Dungeon" and a "Justice Issues Forum", where people who have a serious interest in criminal justice issues, and seriously wish to be informed about those issues, can discuss them seriously." <emphasis added>

I took that to mean you were actually talking about both, since I cant imagine why you would have included Gun Dungeon in that statement, if you were only referring to Justice Issues. You are hereby awarded the honor of:

28. if you want grammar/reading comprehension lessons
Apply within. My rates are a little steep, I'm afraid.

What I'd be very happy to see is a "Gun Dungeon" and a "Justice Issues Forum", where people who have a serious interest in criminal justice issues, and seriously wish to be informed about those issues, can discuss them seriously.

You need to study the use and meaning of commas, it seems. In this case, focus on the first comma in the sentence.

Quite apart from the fact that it makes no sense to interpret a statement that one would like to see two separate things, and that one would like to see a place where issues named after one of those places -- "justice issues" -- could be discussed, as meaning that one would like to see said issues discussed in both places. Not when the entire point of the thing was the desire for a separation of those ("justice") issues from the issues that one might, really, expect to see discussed in a "gun dungeon".

Yup. I'd be very happy to see a "Gun Dungeon" and a "Justice Issues Forum" in both of which people who have a serious interest in criminal justice issues, and seriously wish to be informed about those issues, can discuss them seriously. That makes sense. In the Gun Dungeon through the looking glass.

You mean there things to discuss vis-a-vis justice other than guns?

In the words of Victor Meldrew, I don't believe it!

But I managed to keep mine down to a short simple sentence meant as humor; not a long winded analysis.

I would have posted my comment in AtA if I had a problem with the change... which I don't.

Besides, allowing for the difference in the time stamps, both questions were posted pretty much at the same time. :P

Is it forbidden to say certain things here?

I know we can't use the "N" word.

Can we not mention departed friends?

It seems to imply a polite contempt for Democrats who own guns or promote gun-related issues.

What's in a name? Well, would you want to be named Pimpfunta? (We had a convict at KSP once with that name. Small wonder he turned to crime.)

25. I do believe it would.
I believe I would have canged either my firt name or my last so they'd match. His last name wasn't Smith, but it was really close. (Marginally adhering to the rule concerning personal details, even though I know Pimpfunta is not a members of DU because he's still there and KSP doesn't allow convict access to computers.)
