1. You know they sell those things everywhere?
You don't even have to be 18 to buy one.

the corrupt hammer industry needs to be reigned in and stop manufacturing these deadly weapons that only appeal to criminals, gang-bangers, carpenters and other unsavory characters.

"Up ‘til now the most exciting things in the hardware industry were calendar girls and neon tape measures. Well not any more. Check out the Death Stick – superior hammers with a kick-ass attitude. No doubt the painted hickory handle will catch your eye. But wait until you pick it up. Unlike the company’s founder the hammer is well balanced.Plainly put: this sucker hits a ton"

"Coming Out Of The Closet

Their disgusting logoAt first, we couldn't believe it.

We tried ignoring it, hoping it would go away.

But alert M.I.L.T. members kept bringing to our attention a company that went out of its way to furnish users with dangerous tools- tools it knows are dangerous. We're talking about the "Dead On" Tool Company.

Dead On Tools actually capitalizes on the fact that tools and death go hand and hand.

The "Death Stick" hammer. Do we really have to say anything else? Dead On Tools proclaims that they were "...founded on the principle that even serious tools can be fun. Dead On Products like the Death Stick, stand for personal freedom, and they salute you, the individual, for refusing to accept the status quo."

8. You don't want to sell me death sticks....You want to go home
and think about your life!

I am hugely confused by these products...........A company is taking a useful tool and making it glamorous by suggesting it's good for killing people with?

Odd...And reprehensible.

7. Oh for f*ck's sake, that old tired chestnut.........
"Hey everyone! You can choke to death on bubblegum, therefore guns aren't a problem and we should do NOTHING to restrict access to them!"

Genius.

I don't believe that you are actually stupid enough to believe this, so therefore you must be being deliberately disengenuous.

Hammers are a necessary and intrinsically useful item with a specific purpose (banging in nails) that can, like anything, be misused. I personally am extremely pleased that murdering psychopaths in the UK have to resort to misusing tools or other items, rather than simply popping into a shop to pick up a weapon specifically designed to cause death and injury.

"Offering examples of occasions where guns have caused injury or death is (generally) lending support to the hypothesis that guns are a source of injury and death. These example may also suggest that a) guns are often misused / handled poorly b) often owned by people who don't treat them with the appropriate respect c) owned by people who aren't responsible enough to own guns and/or d) even if guns ARE treated with proper respect, they still occasionally cause injury and death.

I believe that you could use various different examples of "Guns in the news" stories to argue for each of these hypotheses.

However...........offering examples of occasions when people have been injured or killed by something OTHER THAN A GUN, e.g. a harpoon, a dog, a crossbow etc. does not IN ANY WAY effect the hypothesis that guns are a source of injury and death."

19. Errrrrrr..........no.
It's a blatant attempt to suggest that because other things kill people therefore guns aren't a problem.

Now, my suspicion is that once it's challenged then the author will pretend that it was a lighthearted parody, but given that we keep getting "Cars in the news", "Swords in the news" etc. I believe that pro-gunners genuinely think that they're making a valuable pro-gun point, when in fact they're spouting crap.
