Gun Maker: "finger print resistant" semi auto gun?
The makers of the TEC-9 are now marketing their product as being "finger print resistant." A semi automatic weapon known on the streets as a "bullet hose" and now it leaves no fingerprints. Gee, I can't imagine to whom this revelation is being targeted? Exceptionally persnickety target shooters? Hunters? Not too many deer out there with access to fingerprint kits. Those hooves are so unwieldy. Cops? http://www.alternet.org/print.html?StoryID=1017

Anyone know if this is true?

2. You should watch Runaway Jury
Mentions this very technology. Their argument is that fingerprints have water, and water rusts metal, and guns are made of metal. Ok, so why not call them rust-proof?

3. lol! Like any of Intertec's POS products would ever successfully fire...
Probably should be joking like that about a weapon that's been used in atrocities like Columbine, and other well-known shootings, but a buddy of mine had bought the AB-10 (AWB compliant version of the Tec-9) for the exact marketing points that Intertec was after... "it looks cool." Fires like a piece of shit though.

5. Didn't Intertec go out of business in 2001?
?
If so, I wonder how they are making a new weapon.

14. Why? It's not like there's anything but a cheap slur
against a respected Democrat from a gun "enthusiast"...and they're a dime a dozen down here...Hell, look how many were calling John Kerry "evil" last week.

21. I can't recall anyone calling Senator Kerry evil last week
Or at any other time.

While you're looking for proof that taggants are used in European smokeless powders perhaps you could find something to support this claim.

Not a slur in any sense, just a factual document of a moment in time.

A rather nice picture of him IMO.

18. Geocities doesn't allow outside linking.
So a person either has to cut and paste the link for it to work or disable some setting in their browser.

Fingerprints can cause rust on a fine firearm.

Depending on mood and dress, I will carry any of the following

Kimber Custom II
Springfield XD9
Springfield XD40
Taurus 85 snubbie
Kel-Tec p32
S&W 66 .357
Kahr PM9

So, I have no particular affinity for any type, although my favorites are the XDs and the Kahr.

I have a 30-06 carbine (20 inch barrel) that I can only shoot a dozen times or so before I have to break out the extra recoil pad.

37. Not mine...it's a hand-me-down from my Dad
who died a few years ago. It's a custom HusqVarna his dad gave him for graduating college. I'll be handing it off to my kids when I croak.

My next rifle is a Rem 700 in .220 Swift or 25-06

38. Titanium p99
Gotten to love this gun. SA/DA, but no safety whatsoever. Striker-fired, polymer frame. .40 cal or 9mm. The slide on mine has a "Titanium Coating", but I'm not sure if it really is. Doesn't seem to leave fingerprints though, and titanium doesn't tarnish to my knowledge. Great grip, extremely accurate, but the trigger takes getting used to. Very reliable, except with cheap 115 gr. 9mm and an inexperienced shooter with a limp wrist.

DOA is available, but if you like it, why not buy a Glock?

39. Yeah, but laziness is king.
Less prints caused me to get a titanium finish. Fingerprints are still there, but don't do any harm.
