New Al Qaeda Video Instructs U.S. Muslims to Buy Guns, Start Killing

In a chilling video released Friday, American-born Al Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn instructs U.S. Muslims to arm themselves at local gun stores and "target major institutions and public figures," reports ABC News. The most disturbing part of the video, titled "Do Not Rely on Others, Take the Task Upon Yourself," is Gadahn's matter-of-fact tone. "What are you waiting for?" he asks with impeccable English. "America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card."

It was sheer luck that no one but the perps died.

But they were just a couple thugs - immaterial to this. Why no murders? (And who says there have been NO murders with auto weapons for 20 years?)

As I described, these are in the hands, and storage sheds, of racist anti-American militant groups - and they are waiting for the the time to ripen. Full auto weapons are confiscated by the police all the time - often in arsenals as I described. The Branch Davidians had two .50 caliber machineguns. Of course, if you're a white christian you can't be a terrorist, so you don't hear about it.

BTW, I never said we are awash in automatic weapons - those were the words of the idiot in the OP who I was making fun of. But I will guarantee you, there are a hell of a lot more than you, or the ATF, knows. We've had what, 3 million soldiers rotate through Iraq and Afghanistan over the last 10 year - if you don't think that thousands of military grade weapons have found their way back to the States, you are deluding yourself. You may not hear much about it, but soldiers are busted smuggling them through Bragg here on a regular basis. Just like during Vietnam, just like during Korea and WW2. Admittedly, thousands, added to the 500,000 legally registerd auto weapons in the coutry, isn't much, especially compared to the couple hundred million non-auto weapons. But just because they are a vanishingly small percentage, doesn't mean they aren't out there, and you know it.

If a small number of muslims committed terrorist actions, and there were a disproportionate backlash against the entire American muslim community (and along the way any number of brown-skinned people who "look muslim") in response, it would be a massive understatement to say it would strain relations between the United States and the muslim world. And that is what I'm guessing our al-Qaeda poster boy hopes to achieve. I can only hope that American muslims--even though with a beef with American society--are smart enough to see the set-up.
