2. Sign on sticks and flagpoles are banned near the White House.

Also at concerts and many types of public gatherings.

3. And that makes it right....why, now?
Stop for a moment and consider that maybe the prohibitions are wrong. Be careful, though, you may be in danger of actually opening your mind.

5. They're banned at concerts because they block the view of those behind them
And if I pay a bunch of money for a ticket, I wanna see the stage. What type of public gathering, besides near the White House, are flags prohibited? Just curious.

8. That's how concertgoers see it. In reality, venue officials call it a security risk.
And so do their lawyers.

11. But that is voluntary, and on private property.
By voluntary I mean the owner/operator decided to make it that way. There is a huge difference between that and making it criminal.

Okay, okay, I cribbed that from the comments. LOL!

Seriously?

The VFW guys are going to be pissed at the next parade.

6. There are an awful lot of people that want to ban an awful lot of things.
You don't get nanny of the month for nothing, you know.

You have to be at least as bad as that guy who wants to ban salt.

7. I had a medical problem a few months ago
and VOLUNTARILY gave up salt. I now use a salt substitute, or on rare occasions when I do use it, I use sea salt.

The key is, it was VOLUNTARY and the government didn't order me. It's called personal responsibility, not nanny statism.
