Happy V-day to DU gunnie vets

Thank you all you've done to stand by the Constitution, especially for the rest of us who have been barred from service for various reasons, or who left it up to others to do this work.

I was reading an account of the DC sniper's death last night, and how the news reporter contorted to work in how the .223 Bushmaster is the "equivalent" of the military M16...and the story implied that this man's veteran status was the cause of his pathology...

And while I don't reject PTSD as a strong motivator in vets' lives, I've also known so many combat and military veterans with trauma who have NOT expressed it by hiding in a trunk and shooting innocent people.

I felt irritated that this execution was slated for midnight, Veterans' Day, and I don't mean to digress here from my good wishes to you all. Just that I was thinking it over, planning our celebration of this day in our house, thinking about RKBA, thinking about the Bill of Rights, talking it over with others....

And just wanted to pop in and say...

BTW his execution was scheduled for 9:00 P.M. yesterday. He was pronounced dead at 9:11 P.M.

Just thought you'd like to know that (at least) Veteran's Day didn't get stomped on.

He/she came down to the gungeon to wish a happy Veterans Day, knowing that many of the denizens here are gun owners and 2A supporters.

If you're not a 2A supporter, that's fine, but don't go looking for offenses where none exist or are intended. We've enough to be truly offended about without making stuff up or imagining slights that aren't there.
