Victim shoots robber in Washington County
The victim of a robbery attempt shot and killed one of the robbers in New Eagle early yesterday, state police said.

Police said William Eyles, 25, of Monongahela, and Cole MacFarlane, 25, of New Eagle, tried to rob Joseph Gallick, who pulled a gun and shot Mr. Eyles.

Mr. Gallick was treated at Monongahela Hospital for injuries incurred during the crime.

7. FALSE! Firearms are used for many things...
target shooting, hunting, collecting and self defense are all legitimate uses of firearms. Criminals misuse firearms.

11. Even though I'm an RKBA guy... I must say, they ARE made to be weapons.
no way around it, really. They were made for the purpose of killing or maiming.
Sure, there are other recreational uses for them - but they'll almost always be weapons.
No different than swords, bows or spears.

4. Actually I'm always saddened when people choose a life of crime that ends their life prematurely.

5. A question...when you read of a robbery that ends up with the victim dying...
does that make your day?

Gun owners don't feel "good" when a person dies in a robbery, whether the attacker or the victim. Death is tragic.

However, if a victim of a robbery feels that the robber threatens to commit severe bodily harm or possibly murder during his attack, I feel the victim is justified in using force, including lethal force, to stop the attack.

Do you disagree? Is death or suffering for months or years better than defending yourself?

Where does a criminal have a right to rob, rape and pillage for his enjoyment and benefit?

9. Did you happen to notice when you read the article that the victim was injured? ...

Mr. Gallick was treated at Monongahela Hospital for injuries incurred during the crime. Mr. MacFarlane was charged with homicide, attempted robbery, conspiracy and criminal mischief and is in the Washington County Correctional Facility.

If you did read the article, do you wish that the criminals would have hurt the victim more seriously, perhaps killed him?

edited for misspelling
