X-Post -- “Phoenix man rejoins NRA and ACLU” interesting solution to protect ALL civil liberties.
“Phoenix man rejoins NRA and ACLU”
To protect my rights under the Second Amendment as well as the First, I have recently rejoined the NRA and have renewed my membership in the ACLU.

Despite a recent Supreme Court decision, the Obama administration seems bent on restricting gun owners' rights and abusing the state-secrets privilege in civil litigation to hide governmental wrongdoing.

The civil-court system in Maricopa County is especially harmful because it routinely rejects the pleas of minority litigants as nuisances, leaving us with the unacceptable options of silence or violence.

Without the NRA and the ACLU to protect everyone's rights, all of us will be in trouble. –

Richard Gayer,Phoenix

1. In the event a well-regulated militia becomes necessary, we'll keep that amendment in mind.
And if they try to quarter troops in our homes during peacetime, we'll also keep the Third Amendment in mind. You never know when those obsolete amendments might become relevant again.

5. As long as they keep securing our rights, they all will remain relevant.
Seems the 2nd has been used quite successfully, especially recently, on numerous occasions.

Not so well of course on maintaining the actual constitutional Militias, but doing wonderful protecting the individual right to various types of arms.

And long may it do so!

2. I wish the ACLU would take the 2nd Amendment seriously
They seem all too happy to defend Nazi marches and Rush Limbaugh's privacy (I don't recall that they said thank you either), but turn a deaf ear whenever the right to bear arms is threatened.

4. I wish more state chapters would take the AZ, NM, TX chapters' position
That they will protect all our rights, not just the ones they approve of.

6. At Least He Can Be Pretty Certain...
..that the dues he pays to the ACLU won't be used to buy Sarah Palin a new rifle....
