High profile ex-DEA convicted in dozens of straw buys

A former U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent who once criticized U.S. involvement in Central America pleaded guilty Friday to weapons trafficking charges.

Celerino Castillo III, 58, of McAllen, told a federal court in San Antonio that he obtained dozens of pistols and rifles for buyers outside the United States between December 2006 and March this year.

His name didn't register at first, but a little bit of Googling brought up national radio interviews and tons of other high-profile entries including Dateline and others, including his own website http://www.powderburns.org/

Looks like he even wrote a book.
