and four seriously injured in northern Nigeria's Jigawa State following violent clashes between local farmers and immigrant Fulani herdsmen from Niger Republic, a local radio reported on Thursday.
According to state-run Radio Jigawa, violence erupted on Tuesday when the Fulani cattle herders led their herd into farmlands in Miga village and destroyed crops after chasing the farmers away.
The farmers mobilised and engaged the invaders in a fight using bows and machetes, leaving four herdsmen and two farmers dead while four other people were injured, it said.
