Police detonate suspicious package
Jun, 21 2007 - 5:00 AM

HAMILTON (AM900 CHML) - A suspicious case that shut down Hess Village for much of yesterday, turned out to be nothing suspicious at all.

The excitement began around 11 o'clock in the morning, when a man was seen leaving a package on top of a mailbox at Queen and George Streets.

<snip>

It turns out it contained make-up and brushes.

Police say they have to treat these things seriously, and it's hard to say why the case was left where it was.
