Watch your manners! - SA
Cape Town - Shut up, keep your pants up and your hands to yourself. Otherwise you may find yourself in trouble.

The Cape city council is in the process of drawing up an ordinance on public nuisances and unwanted behaviour and residents will have to be at their best behaviour to stay out of trouble.

Under the draft ordinance, which the city council's safety portfolio committee considered this month, spitting competitions in public will be a definite no-no. In fact, nobody may spit or urinate on an "open surface" in public. Nudity is also out, unless the venue is a recognised nude beach.

In addition, Capetonians will have to keep their hands to themselves unless they have the permission of the object of their affection. In fact, they will have to watch their step because if your body touches that of another person, you may also end up in hot water.

3. Did you read the article?

"Cursing in public is also completely out. No examples were given of unacceptable language. If you're not using crude language, you may also not shout or make a loud or persistent noise and this includes sounds coming from microphones."

Granted, this article seems pretty slanted to the anti-ordinance side. But if what it says is true, then yes, I would say that this is going too far. Can't swear in public? Can't shout in public? Sheesh! I CAN SAY WHATEVER THE GOD DAMN HELL I WANT IN MY TOWN!
