This company puts solar panels on your house for a small fee.
My friend in Colorado is looking into this it sounds great but I wanted to bounce it back
and forth with DU. I live in a Condo now so I can't use it.

Citizenr? REnU program packages solar power for you in a simple and smart way. Plainly put, the Citizenr? Corporation pays for, installs, owns and operates the solar installation. You don’t have to worry about maintaining the equipment or any of the other concerns that come with making an investment into solar power. All you are required to do is pay for the electricity generated from these panels, at a fixed rate that is at or below your current electricity price, for up to twenty-five years. Just take a look at some of the benefits that our customers will receive:

No upfront investment, no need to become a financial expert to justify your investment.
No waiting for rebates.
No headaches with the city and the utility; let us handle the engineering, procurement, and construction.
Performance-based contract means you only pay for what is delivered. And since the solar power you generate will reduce the need for electricity from your power company, your net payment should always be equal to, or less than, what you’re paying now.
Hassle-free operating and maintenance; it’s handled by the experts.
Actual hedge against future utility price increases: you can “lock in” your rates for the electricity generated from the solar system at your home for a period of up to twenty-five years, far longer than the guaranteed rates offered by other electricity providers.

At the end of each month, Citizenr? will provide you with a bill - electronic or paper, whichever your preference is. The bill tells you how much electricity your REnU has generated for the month, and based on your contract price, the amount you owe is easily calculated by multiplying your contract rate by the amount of electricity that was generated. As an example, the national retail electricity rate is 8¾¢ per kWh, the national monthly electricity consumption is 578 kWh; if both of these averages are your specific case, and the REnU generated exactly what was needed that month, then your bill would be $50.58.

It’s that easy. No headaches. No worries. No large investment.

1. Dumb question --
THEY maintain the panels for *5* years -- but you have to sign a contract to pay THEM for electricity for *25* years, at a price they fix?

Uhh -- this doesn't compute for me. I thought the whole point in putting in solar panels was to keep from paying electric companies, period.

And 5 years of maintenance for a 25 year guaranteed income stream for this company? WOW. I thought the phone companies had a racket going with the 2 year agreement on cell phones. :wow:

Thanks for the input I will forward all the responses I get to him.
He is thinking of doing this over the summer and wanted my input.

I see contract problems myself.

5. this is MLM? Oh no thanks!
ANYTHING that is being pushed on that sort of marketing strategy is a NO DEAL for me. MLM makes millionaires of the initial investors, and inevitably screws the little guy on the bottom.
