PIRG on Bush energy bill disaster-fails to solve old/creates new problems
Everything you NEED to Know and Didn't Who Who to Ask about Bush's Disastrous Energy Bill

PIRG has put together a fantastic one-stop resource on this bill, including info on what you can do to stop its passage.

This bill will not only FAIL to solve any energy problems for the US, it would increase pollution dramatically, cost taxpayers billions and lead to a steady increase in pollution-related health problems and deaths. US PIRG says, "This bill would hand out billions in taxpayer dollars to big polluters, allow more smog pollution in America's dirtiest cities, repeal laws designed to prevent future Enron-style market manipulations, and let oil companies off the hook for contaminating our groundwater with MTBE, a possible human carcinogen."

PIRGs were the chief mechanism for Ralph Nader to embezzle money from college students in the 1970's.

They make a nice picture, but I wouldn't trust these people at all. They generally don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

It's easy to oppose Cheney's embezzling energy bill, since the bill is so fucked. PIRG's just happen to be a particularly stupid way to oppose the bill. In general, PIRG's are among the more corrupt and duplicitious organizations on the planet. They simply latch on to correct stances on environmental issues to justify their rather pathetic existence.

In case no one has noticed, propaganda from the Repuke Ralph Nader, founder of PIRG, is one reason that George W. Bush was able to present himself as a moderate and thus deny President elected Gore the White House. The failure to seat Gore in the office to which he was elected was one of the most serious environmental disasters in United States history.

Fuck PIRG and the rest of the Repuke Universe.
