N.J. Carwash Looks At Alternative Energy (finds NIMBYs)
http://www.moderncarcare.com/hotnews/6ch14833819311.htm...

WAYNE, N.J. -- A carwash/oil-lube joint is playing a role in saving the planet. When former corporate lawyer Rob Burke purchased his business in Wayne last year, he set about transforming it into a sustainable, eco-friendly operation.

He made costly investments to recycle both oil and water and installed a solar-powered system to cut power costs. In the process, he even picked up a prestigious state award.

But when he suggested installing a wind turbine to cut power costs and provide clean, renewable energy for himself and his neighbors, he ran into a buzz saw at town hall.

2. NIMBYs are everywhere and they seem to hate wind power the most
That includes of the progressives such as Kennedy, which I find distressing

3. I couldn't agree more.
Kennedy's opposition to wind power in his backyard (ocean) had to be one of the biggest disappointments ever. I've found him impossible to take seriously ever since.

4. They need a NIMBY map
We have one at work.

It's the same map as the social justice map, just with opposite colors.

5. okay, I'm going to try and navigate the logic here...
turbine = tall buildings.

That to me is the most colossal leap in logic I have seen today.

6. I grew up in Wayne, NJ
and left as soon as I could.

All they care about are their property values.
