Michigan: solar open houses event Oct 8th.


Eight homes will be open for view Oct. 8 during the eighth annual southwestern Michigan edition of the American Solar Energy Society National Tour of Solar Homes.

The free, annual one-day event is designed to demonstrate how solar energy technologies can be adapted to nearly any climate and architectural style. The tour runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Homes on this year's tour have features that include solar-heated water, wind power, ecological landscaping, passive solar heating and hydronic in-floor heat.
