Industrial Hemp/Marijuana
---

When you have a "for profit" prison system, law enforcement and DEA promotions taking place, Cartel interests to protect, and on top of that competing industrial interests...well...FORGET ABOUT hemp/weed ever being fully legalized to benefit "we the people"..

Sorry for being so damn cynical but I remember the 1970's and the genuine hope then that laws would change.

1. I like to point out that ALL of the sails and riggings on the ships that won the Revolutionary War..
...were made from hemp. Several of the founding fathers grew hemp on their farms.

The reason hemp was criminalized was because of the cotton industry. They were behind the propaganda campaign and the movie "Reefer Madness", which is rather amusing if you don't view it with its political implications in mind. The "authority" at the beginning actually says something like, "this didn't happen, but it could."

The cotton industry had the money. The hemp industry had the superior fiber. Money talks.

3. Also the wood-based paper industry.
IIRC, the Hearst papers campaigned heavily for pot criminalization after they had bought up huge forest lands for wood pulp.

2. Now that you're older you get to let us have genuine hope.
Thanks for that. We can do it.

4. I understand what you're saying
Big Pharma and my doctors have tried to kill me. I told Duke I'm not your f'ing labrat - I'm outta here. I can Google and find out honest reliable information. Oh, it was not pretty and my son was with me and he just let it rip. Needless to say I'm making a lot of progress but, the residual side effects are now the hump to get over. Some I'm stuck with for life. Maybe - I'm stubborn.

Legalize it already! I'm smoking my own - haven't smoked since back in the day mabye 20 years ago - it's been helping me more than Rx's. Sorry - I do go on and on sometimes because here and on my other group ppl are sane and I get good advice and links. I do have my own mind and read then do what I want - what I believe will work fro me. Ok, time to shut up now. :)
