Type of water heater:



solar water preheat -- in cold-ass Canada:



...in tropical Hawaii:



Need your roof redone?:


And finally, not energy related except when dealing with AC, but important. Note Average homes without humidifier in winter are at 10-15%:

1. Question: Is there a point to having a reflective roof in Wisconsin?
Does the energy savings during the summer outweigh the energy loss during the winter?

2. Good question...

...I don't know. With all of the above, your mileage may vary depending on your individual circumstances.

Perhaps an absorbtive roof and actively ventilated attic in the summer, and turn the fans off in the winter might work better?
