Winds Threaten to Steer More Radiation Toward Tokyo (AccuWeather.com)

Northerly to northeasterly winds will threaten to steer more radiation toward communities south of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, including Tokyo, at the start of the week.

The winds have already been impacting where the radiations goes, and fears continue to be raised as higher-than-normal levels of radiation were discovered in food products near the crippled power plant.

"Higher-than-normal levels of radiation have been discovered in products of farms which lie in the vicinity of the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. This comes as a change in the weather pattern is expected to spread radiation throughout communities which lie inland from the power plant," according to AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Kristina Pydynowski on Saturday.

Southeasterly winds on Saturday were bringing radiation into areas west and northwest of the power plant.
