Wylfa in Anglesey 'could house next UK nuclear plant'
The UK's next nuclear power plant could be constructed on the island of Anglesey by 2020.

Horizon Nuclear Power says it will apply for planning consent in 2012 to build a reactor with up to 3,300MW capacity.
...
Anglesey AM Ieuan Wyn Jones welcomed the proposals and said construction of the plant would be an "economic boost".

County council leader Clive McGregor said the move would have a "positive impact" on the community and deliver "high quality jobs".
...
The Welsh Assembly Government remains opposed to new nuclear plants in Wales despite the approval of Wylfa as a potential site.

Interestingly, the local politicians are all in favour - Welsh Assembly member, MP, and county council leader. They look at the jobs it brings. But the government of the Welsh Assembly (a coalition of Labour, and the nationalist party Plaid, of which the Anglesey AM is the leader) is against it, overall.

1. Makes sense ...
... seeing as how there is already one there at Wylfa approaching
end of life so a lot of the infrastructure is already in place.

(FWIW, I've been round the Wylfa plant as well as the wind farm
up the road from it.)

2. "build a reactor with up to 3,300MW capacity" is not possible
There are no nuclear reactors that large.
So either they mean two reactors in one plant (like 2 1650MW reactors = 3300MW nuclear plant) or more likely the author mixed up thermal power with electrical power.

A 3300 MWt (thermal power) at 35% to 37% efficiency is 1100 to 1300 MWe (MW electrical).
