Not terrific, but not a disaster either.

Yesterday in Redding we had three inches in two hours! A dude DROWNED downtown in what's usually a tiny little creek, and cars were floating around in the parking garage!

Oh, and on edit: apparently we had 6 inches total yesterday! :o

1. But did we catch any of it?
Therein lies the rub - most of our water comes from runoff from the Sierras. The stuff that pours down in SF and LA just gets diverted back to the bay...

3. The local water districts will never ever tell you
The first twelve years that I lived in Marin County, the local water district "Claimed" that we were in a drought.

In fact, we were only in a semi-drought condition for one of those twelve years.

While home owners are encouraged to be all environmental and not flush the toilet or water their lawns, the water they save goes to helping the office parks that get established with the water that the normal users conserve.

The local newspaper had this as a headline one weekend "Recent rains only a mirage"
