Is the federal tax credit for installing solar power systems a one time credit or can a homeowner use the credit for multiple systems or system upgrades every year?

1. You can claim multiple systems/upgrades

in different years. For instance, we installed two small wind turbines, claimed one last year and one this year. The deduction is based on kilowatt hours, so you can claim the kilowatts for one system this year, the other next year and so on.
