Greengate Gets Municipal Approval for 550-MW Wind Project (Alberta, CA)

Greengate Power Corporation (Greengate) announced that it has received municipal approvals for the construction of three wind projects in Alberta, Canada totaling 550 megawatts (MW) in capacity.

The three projects, Blackspring Ridge (300 MW), Halkirk (150 MW) and Stirling (100 MW) will have a capital cost in excess of CAN $1 billion , and once completed, will provide a clean source of power to approximately 200,000 Alberta homes. Greengate expects to begin construction on the projects in 2009 or 2010.
