Segway Glides as Gasoline Jumps
With gasoline prices and global warming on their minds, more Americans are getting out of their cars and riding to work -- and riding on the job -- on the once-maligned Segway.

1. The once-maligned?
That thing was the bees knees, until president Fucktard fell off it and you never heard about it since.

That guy can screw up a wet dream.

5. the biggest problem with Segways is the price
if they made those things cost ~ $1k people would be snatching them up like hot cakes.
For most people any transport that costs $5-6k needs to be able to at least carry groceries and the odd passenger.

6. There has been one around work recently
There has been a guy tooling around on one of these here at work. I work on a very big site - we have 7 large multistory buildings (plus some non-office facility buildings).

For someone who, for whatever reason, needs to be constantly going from one end of the site to the other, this would be very cool. :)

7. I noticed security (police?) using them at Phoenix Sky Harbor last week.
The first one I'd seen in years.

8. For $5,000 a pop, you'd be better off with an electric scooter.
This one has twice the range and twice the speed for half the price:

Plus you don't look like a dork when you're riding it. You could even add some mirrors for the Quadrophenia look.
