The great thing about winding rubber bands is that the energy is totally renewable and it means jobs, jobs, jobs!

There used to be a planet in this solar system, believe it or not, where the purpose of energy was not to create labor, but to reduce labor.

Note that this issue is not about the distribution of wealth.

When my father was a young man, about midway through the 20th century, the point of wealth was to reduce the length of the work week.

For about 5 millennia since the discovery of writing, humanity was fueled by biofuels. It was a great thing, really, and it represents why, soon after the invention of the steam driven pump, great masses of humanity began to slug underground to dig coal.

1. Midway through the 20th century
There were real unions back then, I belonged to one. At that time about 22% of the workforce was union, and real wages were rising along with the standard of living. Now about 8% is union and the rethugs are still blaming us for all of the workforce problems, along with inflation. The moneyed class has convinced the fools in this country that unions are evil. Until we get back to cooperating to get our Fair share of increased productivity and wealth, we will stay at their mercy.

2. Huh?
What, exactly, is the problem with creating 100 jobs?

You expressed concern over the use of fossil fuels. Well, this business produces power without using fossil fuels. So what's the big deal?
