Sept 20 (Reuters) - A gathering storm in the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Thursday led several oil companies to evacuate staff from offshore rigs and reduce production of oil and natural gas.

The Gulf of Mexico is home to about 1.3 million barrels per day of domestic crude output and 7.7 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas production, according to the latest government figures.

the oil we import is generally located in some of the most unstable parts of the world or our own domest oil is located in areas that are now brew pots for hurricanes?
