I just did a 'seat of the pants' tax workup for our taxes due next April
since I have a new job and have to re-do my W-4 this late in the game

I looked at everything and once again it looks like I'll owe about $1200 at the end of the year.

Yanno, I hate that I fill out their little forms every year and every year I end up coming out of pocket. I don't mind paying the taxes but the way they change the game midstream every year pisses me off.

I do everything I can to come out even (+/- $200) but they get me EVERY FREAKIN YEAR for $500-700 more

:banghead:

2. I don't even care if there's a 'break' I just want to figure them at the first of the year
and be within a couple hundred bux. not a thousand bucks!

April is my birthday month and it really cuts into my birthday present $$$

5. I wouldn't hold my breath for a tax cut anytime soon.
there's too much excrement in the ventilation at the moment. A tax cut now isn't realistic.

6. that means you have reason to be grateful - you made a lot
more money than most and got to keep a lot of it and paid some to help the rest of us to roads, bridges, parks, libraries, space program, etc - thanks for your contribution

4. I feel your pain. We owed $4000 last year.
That was at least party due to activities that didn't happen this year, but if it happens again in this economic climate, I wonder if we could pay it.

7. request that more be taken out of your paycheck--
It's really pretty easy. I have also checked "0" for number of dependents.

They have to make certain assumptions.

If you have a spouse that works, for instance, it can make a difference. But, I do understand your pain.
