I don't think it's conspiratorial to wonder if FEMA's covering up not only the perceptions of their incompetence in the Gulf but something more sinister having to do with oil and refineries. Is keeping the price of gasoline low really going to help them? Is there any way that jacking it up and rationing would actually help with their increasingly outrageous, overt racist, classist election fraud and disenfranchisement, perhaps by limiting people's travel and time on election day? McCain and Palin wouldn't be lying so outrageously, haranguing the press, and participating in such presumably illegal election fraud activities if they knew they could actually win on the merits. They are desperate.

Yes, we all used to joke about how these were tinfoil hat speculations, but they all seem to enter the realm of at least 10% probability now, so I think it's worth raising.

1. the people who don't believe shock doctrine is happening
are the ones who need to be put in jackets with buckles in the back, and loaded into soft rooms with crayons.

2. We've had Republican governor's since 1994,
so we already have government by, for, and of the oligarchy.

4. We better stop 'wondering' and better start accepting that this is what's going on.
I think it's time to stop being pissed off at all the "stupid brainwashed people" and start blaming the sharks and crooks because it's the sharks and crooks who are telling us to blame the "stupid brainwashed people"... Divide and conquer.

5. but specifically . . do you think oil shocks are being orchestrated?
is this just a situation that will be exploited willy-nilly over the next few years, or is a specific plan being enacted now? it may be that someone said, don't show floating bodies because it's disrespectful to their family members. maybe people have the best of intentions.

It just occurred to me that around here, even in Raleigh NC, gas rations might be as disruptive to elections as caging and a very innocent-seeming causis belli (sp) for the beginnings of proto-martial law.

6. Yes, I think that the oil shocks are orchestrated.
I also think that they will apply shock to the areas devastated by Ike.
