1.
wondering what the total of all folks income is here in the US? Including folks like bill gates.

2.
also, wondering if the stock dividends paid out, are counted when they add up the GDP.

PS if you want extra points LOL... tell me why the GNP has fallen out of favor and no media mentions it anymore... just the GDP these days.
thanks!

2. regarding gdp/gnp:

i'm pretty sure dividend payouts are not part of either, that's just redistribution of profits. gnp and gdp both measure the profits themselves.

the distinction is that gdp measures where the profit was produced (the factory's country), whereas gnp measures where the profit winds up (the owner's country).

thus, given increasing globalization, gdp better measures which country is a good country to invest production in. gnp is more a measure of which country the rich folks live in.

3. answers
1) Interesting looks like ~9T salaries. I think that's around GDP which makes sense.

2) No neither dividends or wages are dirrectly connected GDP though indirreclly yes. GDP is total amount of goods/services produced for consumption. If you're a service provider, yes you can moe my lawn for 20$ and it's 20$ GDP and 20$ wages.

GNP based on what is owned by domestically or by nationals I think. So a German factory in the US doesn't count even though it's make goods there, and hiring people there. Seems kind of dumb.
