I don't expect Bush to live long after he leaves office.
I think the degree that he has been propped-up by his handlers is something we may have been underestimating.

I think that it is possible that, without that sort of very structured environment and all of the various sorts of support he daily receives, he will begin to de-compensate, and will begin to ignore his personal health and grooming. Likely, since he has never developed a support network of friends, he will begin to abuse alcohol again. After this, it is a matter of a year or so, and he will have squandered the remainder of his life.

Does anybody else see this sort of thing happening?

2. I think you have a point, but not necessarily for the reasons
you give.

There has been so much speculation about his health lately. He looks and sounds worse than ever. And, he has postponed his physical.

I think he may be in poor health right now. Losing the election would cause further deterioration.

4. I think he knows he is a failure and he knows he is going to lose.
Given his personality/character, he will take the rejection very poorly. I expect he'll spent his remaining years on the ranch, drunk and bitter.

18. Ranches have cattle, farms have crops
The ranch is almost surrounded by the 3rd or 4th ID, but I think the 4th ID is in Iraq. I'm with you --a prop.

19. I understand it was an old hog farm
which is a good analogy for the current owner.

6. he does have some
health issues and they maybe serious.i noticed that he could`t get past about an hour of the debate with any new thoughts on how to answer the questions put to him. the rapid eye movement maybe caused by over use or long term use of neurological drugs. add the factors of booze , coke, and the possibility of speed use in this early additive stages. yup,he`s one messed up guy...

system failure eventually..The mind IS the first thing to go..but then, george didn;t have much in that dept to begin with..his immune system has gone to shit..

He will have the bennies of ex-presidential health access as well as Secret Service protection from his many enemies around the world..but so what..his health failure (mind, liver, etc.)is too progressed to afford the chimpster an easy existance.

sucks huh. He'll be a stupid frail old nobody with a sick liver.

not immediately, but within 4 or 5 years of leaving office. I think his legacy will take him down.

10. Please. We'd have been lucky if Nixon had been a recluse
instead he was back out there in the world being listened to by all sorts of otherwise reputable types.

Only the good die young.

11. I don't believe this "physical postponed" bit at all.
If he is as sick as some people (including me) believe, postponing a physical would be unprofessional on the part of his doctors. I think he has agreed to have a physical, with the quid-pro-qup being that nothing about it would become public until after the election.

And I think his prognosis after leaving office is very poor.

13. I am starting to
wonder if the President has MS.

The problem with swallowing, the clumsiness (the accidents) and the problems with speech (at least) all add up. And there is some indication of some of the other symptoms of MS.

You can check out (many of, at least) the symptoms here.

http://www.nationalmssociety.org/Sourcebook-Symptoms.asp

Do keep in mind that MS effects different people in different ways, and the actual symptoms that an individual will have varies. There are also several different varieties of MS, and with some of these the symptoms come and go.

Now I am a long way from certain about this -- but it has me wondering.

14. Bush runs a 6:30 mile and benches 250
which is amazing for a man of his size and age. Say what you want about his leadership, but the guy is a workout fanatic. He's had this regimen for 15 years or so.
I just don't see why all this is suddenly going to change if he loses. I don't get the feeling that his whole existence is dependent upon this election. Sometimes it seems like it's no big deal to him.
Just my thoughts.

15. He did run a 7:00 mile
It has been almost a year since he has been able to run at all. His knees are shot, hence the bike riding which has resulted in his flights over the handlebars. Notice the increase in his girth.

17. In '92 when Clinton handed pappy Bush his ass
he went into a short (week or two) depression filled with denial and anger. And I prefer Bush senior to jr Bush, anyday. I can't wait for this defeat to happen.

22. George W. Bush = Dry Drunk
Bush is an untreated alcoholic, and has thus never dealt with the psychological issue that led him to drink in the first place. Losing in November will, quite likely, send him back to the bottle.
