I'm disgusted with freepers!
I post at a board open to everyone, and recently posted a thread about civil unions. The usual freepers came out, misquoting the Bible and throwing out several health statistics that I checked out with my MD and found were false. I politely refuted the Bible quote by quoting the Bible myself (King James version), and asking what traslation they used. So what happens? They start a new thread saying how stupid liberals like me are and that they are right. The only thing good about this is that it is obvious to everyone else who is being juvenile and not playing fair. Funny thing is if I said any of these things on that board, the freepers would scream about how unfair I was!

Any thoughts for witty remarks to make to these loons, or should I just ignore them?

1. They don't have the intellectual capacity to comprehend
your arguments, so you're "throwing your pearls before swine."

2. Ignore 'em
You can lead a horse to the water trough, but you can't make it drink. If the freepers don't wanna see the light, they'll just stay blind.

4. best to ignore them, but...
if you want to have fun with them, Akido is the way to go. A site like http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/ can be fun. They love to quote Leveticus, for example, and there are tons of rules and laws in LV that nobody obeys, except maybe the Taliban

Their own weapon is all you need to use against them

5. what works for me..
when this issue comes up, I use the "I thought you wanted LESS government?" argument...works like a charm. They end up fumbling for words to justify a big government peering into your window.

7. Just let the dog die
Let me tell you from experience that it is better to plant the seeds of thought and leave. Many of those people are so ignorant that fighting with them will just make you sad about the human race.

What is it they say about marketing? Only after a minimum of 7 exposures will a person finally pick up the message. Maybe you should go quantity of exposure to an idea instead of spending all of your time fighting with a small group.

8. Ah...Hate to burst your bubble
But am I the only one who realizes that you just stoopped to their level.
This thread is about how can you reply to them, but it's also about how much you hate freepers.
You complain about how they posted their own thread, and then you come here to DU and posted a thread of your own about pretty much the same thing.
On the bright side, however, my advice is to let it go.
If you try to argue with them, then they will just post more threads about how stupid liberals are, you will get all frustrated, and things will just get more complicated.

9. I don't get frustrated
when FReepers post about how stupid liberals are!

Would you get frustrated if a mentally challanged individual called you stupid? What's the point in getting frustrated??

I don't think you've burst anyones' bubble. This DU'er IS being a bit immature to complain that FReepers aren't debating him fairly. What does he expect? They're dishonest or unfair regarding almost every issue they defend!
And he's whining, which I don't like. BooHoo, the FReepers were mean to me. Ignore the idiots. Go there and disrupt them like they do to us. Make them appear hostile and ignorant - it isn't hard - and them leave (well....get banned....happens pretty fast to the non-sheep there). Don't lose any sleep over their general stupidity.

10. No, I would not get frustrated if a mentally challenged individual, etc.
But freepers are not mentally challenged. The veiws that they have and all that stuff makes them seem mentally challenged but they are not. Freepers are not stupid (I know you disagree).
And I know that that DUer was being immature. Isn't that what i said in my post?
And as for not losing sleep over their stupidity, they're not stupid. They managed to control all 3 aspects of our government using just one election, didn't they?
They managed to get Bill Clinton an impeachment trial, didn't they?
They managed to destroy 2 terrorist regimes within one 4 year presidency, didn't they?
Freepers are not stupid. Their veiws may be, but they are not.
Don't underestimate your enemy.

11. I did not say freepers are mentally challanged
I was making a point by comparison.

A person should no more get frustrated by a freeper calling them stupid than they would if a mentally challanged person called them stupid.

And no....they did not "destroy 2 terrorist regimes". Iraq has never been shown to be a terrorist regime....and the Taliban are apparently alive and well.

In either case, you defend freepers as not being stupid because you attribute political action or supposed achievment to them. Separate the highly intelligent lawyers and political planners from the masses (of which freepers are a part of) they convinced to vote for them.

12. You are being frustrating enough for all the freepers.
You were associating the freepers with the mentally challenged and thusly implying that they were mentally challenged.
And yes, they did. Neither the Taliban or Sadaam is in charge of the country they were in charge of. And there is no proof that the Taliban is alive and well. There is just no proof that they are not.
So maybe, destroy was the worong word. How about "Severely Handicap"?
That is not the only reasons that freepers are not stupid. Those were just the ones I could think of at the time. Freepers (whether some people admit it or not) are people. Human beings. And the H. Sapiens race (as a whole) is a very smart race.
I'd like to say more, but I must go, so I will save it for when I reply to your next comment.

13. Maybe I should define "stupid" a little more in this context...
I call people stupid when they refuse to acknowledge what the majority of the worlds leading climatic scientists acknowledge.

I call people stupid when they won't admit that some form of gun control can be a good thing.

I call people stupid when they spend all their time mining world news for all the bad things done by members of (or those claiming membership in) a particular religion and then conclude that the religion is evil and the practioners somehow inferior to them

I call people stupid when they equate homosexuality to beastielity and claim that people CHOOSE their sexual orientation.

I call people stupid when they consider invading countries to be the preferred foreign policy in most cases.

I call people stupid when they believe a boycott is a suitable answer for anyone and everyone who holds differing political positions than them.

I call people stupid when they consider themselves stronger than those who don't threaten violence at every turn.

I call people stupid when they call institutions formed to foster international co-operation and solutions "irrelavent".
(Ya, we're seeing how irrelavent the UN is now. More and more repuke voices are starting to chirp up about needing more involvement from the UN in Iraq, aren't they?)

Let me simplify things for you. Freepers are frought with mentally challanged individuals. People who fail to understand that the world is not a grab bag for the guy with the biggest gun but a place where we ALL need to find MUTUAL solutions. A place where the value of EVERY life is equal and important...not just American life. If that's not mentally challanged I don't know what is.

17. Read
1 Sameul chapters 18 - 21. Contained within is a very interesting story about a male-male love affair between David and Johnathon (son of Saul). This love affair to my reading seems to be more than just real close friends.
