Ed Schultz takes on Clear Channel

Today on Ed Schult'z local (North Dakota) program, News and Views, he took off after Clear Channel (which owns his flagship local station and the chain of in-state stations that carry his local News and Views program) for "blocking him every step of the way" in developing his national show.

He said it was "purely political" that he national show wasn't carried in his home state, laying the blame both with Clear Channel and, in one case, with the owners or general managers (he wasn't clear which) of a station in Bismarck, N.D. which has declined to carry his national show. He called the two gentleman with the Bismarck stations "Hoevenites" (our GOP governor is John Hoeven).

I hope this doesn't lead to the loss of his local show here, but he's clearly laying it on the line while sitting in Clear Channel studio using a clear channel mike and tower to attack Clear Channel.

and it ticks me off, sitting behind a coporate, no-streaming-media firewall, that I can't get his national show here.

4. He's on a Lisbon station

that I can pick up in Fargo. 890 I believe. But I don't know if you'd be able to pick up that station in your office building.

3. I like Ed. He presents an earthy, tough but fair Lib.

I know he has made a "change" to become what he is, and it maybe calculated or it may be true. But he is playing a part in the struggle for change and he does a good job of it. It will be interesting to see how his show does in the markets that carry him. He seems to speak often with truckers. I wonder what's going on on the CB discussions. Anyone know?

5. we have him in twin cities

on AM 1330. He's great: "I'm a gun toting, red meat eating liberal out to kick some neocon ass". He really connects with us in this area, talks about fishing and regional things.
